Mineraux: A New Filipina-made Mineral Makeup Brand

Hey guys! I wasn’t able to attend the Mineraux launch but I managed to coerce my good friend Nikki to go there for me. Here is her personal experience during the official unveiling of this intriguing new local mineral makeup brand.

Last May 23, me and my sister, care of the super awesome Lizette (ed.–lol), headed on over to the Fort Bonifacio’s Barcino wine cellar, for the official launching of Mineraux’s Skin Perfecting Mineral makeup –true blue Pinay formulated makeup especially catered to Filipinas who are more powerful, independent, opinionated, and fearless than ever. Minéraux is dedicated to further empower these women to shine both inside and out.

Loot! Yay.

According to Melissa, one of the owners of Mineraux, the brand has been existing since November of 2007. But only recently did they decide to focus their time and effort on developing the brand to its full potential, as well as share their love and advocacy for mineral makeup and organic skin-care products. With a whole new roster of products to offer, including mineral foundation, concealer, primer, highlighter, veil, blush, bronzer, eye shadow, eye liner, eye brow powder, and premium brushes, plus the launching of lipglosses and lipsticks by next week as well, Mineraux is truly a one makeup stop shop to look out for.

Of course, what are advocacies without charities! Minéraux has also pledged a percentage of its profit for every item sold to the Hands On Manila’s Shine Program, a holistic enhancement program for the girls and young women.

So really, Mineraux is not only patriotic but also pilantrophic! Win.

The event was really nice. The launch was set in a little cozy deli-esque setting. Those invited were briefed a bit by the owners of Mineraux, where the audience can directly ask questions about their product. After the brief talk, food was served, and I must say, I have never tasted wine this delicious!

After the eating and a little chitchat with the other guests, we were told to head on over to the Mineraux testing corner where we were told to swatch some colors and try the product at home. It was so exciting, everyone went gaga for the little shiny box and I must say, my heart leapt with all the great products Mineraux had to offer, not to mention the brushes being super soft and luxurious.

After much deliberation, I got a jar of foundation, a face highlighter and blush while my sister got a green and a yellow corrector, plus an apricot eye shadow! FOTD and review of the products in the next post but so far, I am loving Mineraux and I might just be a convert.

Anyway, it was nice to meet the beauty bloggers I frequently read online and I must say, they were all very very gorgeous. :D

Minéraux products will soon be sold online here and here. The first two Minéraux make-up corners are targeted to unveil in Power Plant Mall in July 2009 and in Glorietta Mall in August 2009. Check it out!

PS You might notice that the labels say “Made in the US”. Just to clarify, Mineraux is a company officially listed in the Philippines and owned by Filipinos. They ship the raw powders from the US and Canada and reformulate and repackage the makeup here. :)
