Color Collection Blush-On Duo in Desert Rose
Funny thing - a lot of blushes seemed to be named Desert Rose. I know Bobbi Brown, MAC, Lancome, and NYX has a Desert Rose blush somewhere. :P And now we have Color Collection!
The Color Collection Blush-On Duo in Desert Rose (P360) is an affordable, flattering duo that has a blush and contour shade. The packaging says it's matte, but the powder has a slight shimmer which is quite pretty when worn. I do like the very classy packaging and the wide mirror that goes with it - perfect for retouching while you're out.
It's not quite pigmented, but one good thing about that is you'll have the chance to layer the color to your liking. I'm a fan of pigmented blushes, but sometimes they're hard to work with and correct properly if you don't apply it right the first time. A sheer blush means that you can build on color that easily looks natural.
My main gripe with the product is its powdery texture. It's not as firmly-packed as I would like. Another gripe is the staying power, but I can let it slide since this is effortless to tote along for retouching in the middle of the day. Just make sure to bring a nice blush brush since the one that comes in the compact is sparse and doesn't apply color well.
At the end of the day, considering the price (P360 for 7g), the Color Collection Blush-On Duo in Desert Rose is not so bad. It's nothing close to MAC or NARS but you do get a bit more than what you pay for. ;) It's cheap, plus you get two shades in one!
