Elie Saab Le Parfum: The exceptional in the everyday

My favorite fashion designer is Elie Saab. I can't say I'm an avid runway follower, but I always watch out for the Lebanese designer's new collections. Mr. Saab is the only one who I feel understands the female form, who knows our deepest desire to be beautiful. He doesn't come out with unrealistic clothes that no one outside of the catwalk or a pop concert would wear. Season after season, his dresses never fail to stun and amaze.

Sigh! I want to be rich enough to afford that $8,000 dress one day! For now though, I'm happy just having the Elie Saab Le Parfum, the designer's first foray into the world of fragrances.

The Le Parfum is in keeping with Mr. Saab's very strict aesthetics. The bottle has the same intricacy as his haute couture creations, and can even be considered a work of art with its many glimmering facets and elegant curves. The scent itself is intensely feminine with top notes of orange blossom, core of jasmine, and a woody base of cedar, patchouli, and honey. It is inspired by the Mediterranean city of Beirut, which is Mr. Saab's favorite city in the world.

The scent is heady, and quietly magnetic. It can be overwhelming if you're too young or too under dressed! Le Parfum has a high concentration of perfume oils so it's important to use a small amount (two sprays at most). On me, it stays on for over 24 hours. Not kidding about it being intense - it really sticks on skin.

I highly recommend this to women who like striking floral-woody perfumes. It has about the same intensity and distinctiveness as the classic Guerlain Shalimar, although of course Shalimar has been around much longer and is the ultimate oriental scent. :) Try the Elie Saab Le Parfum, and bring the exceptional to your every day.

The Elie Saab Le Parfum EDP is available in 30ml, 50ml, and 90ml bottles. It is available in all leading department stores nationwide.
