Current skincare routine

I'm in an unusual position of being able to experience a huge number of products on a regular basis. I don't try ALL the skincare I get - I usually check reviews online, and if they're good then I test the product for a week. If they suit me then I use it up. If, in that time period I haven't found something better, then I repurchase it. If not then I use up the new product, and the cycle repeats itself.

There are products I repurchase but you can see how it depends on several factors. What does my skin need at the moment? Did I recently receive something that can be a good or even better substitute? That's a beauty blogger problem, haha. That's why my current skincare routine is radically different from the one I posted seven months ago.

Before I go into the nitty gritty I want to explain what's awesome about this routine. It's best for sensitive oily-combination skin, with a focus against dullness and blemishes. These products are not matapang at all. They don't sting the eyes or irritate pimples! Lastly, they don't clog the pores and in fact help minimize blackheads around the nose and cheeks.

In short, it's everything my skin needs! I won't recommend these if you have dry skin because they don't provide enough moisture. If you're in your thirties upwards, you may find that these aren't enough to nourish your skin and minimize the appearance of wrinkles.

You already know how much I love the Shu Uemura High Performance Balancing Cleansing Oil, so I'll shut my trap already. :P I will review the Bioderma Solution separately, but for now I can tell you that it's an excellent makeup remover that feels just like water! It can also be used a toner or as a facial cleanser by itself. What an amazing product - no wonder Lisa Eldridge loves it!

I use it mainly to remove eye and lip makeup though. Not as skincare, per se, but I thought I'd include it anyway.

After removing my makeup, I use the Kiehl's Rare Earth Deep Pore Daily Cleanser (P1,200). If I'm not mistaken this is one of Kiehl's best selling cleansers ever. Agh I have to write a review about this in another post (I'm so sorry!), I just wanted to let you know I LOVE THIS STUFF. It cleared out my blackhead problem like magic!!!

I actually stopped having annoying blackheads until I ran out of my fave Etude House Wonder Pore Whipping Foam. I searched three Etude House branches for it for a few weeks - nada! It's been out of stock for a while! :( So I had to resort to milder cleansers which weren't suited for the job. Hay. Kiehl's is great though!

I also use the Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner as my toner. It lifts all remaining traces of makeup as well as product buildup effectively. It also feels like water, no sting, and it's not drying at all. Wonderful stuff, and so cheap too! P478 for 250 ml WTF!

And these are my moisturizers. I need to buy a new jar of Clinique Moisture Surge, stat! I don't use it all the time though because I find the Shu Uemura TSUYA Skin Serum and Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate enough to moisturize my skin. I use Moisture Surge when I'm feeling dry but otherwise the serums are up to the task. Tsuya I use under my SPF or sometimes at night, but the Midnight Recovery is my usual pick before I sleep.

I already raved about the Tsuya serum - it gets the credit for clearing out my blemishes so quickly. If you've been following this blog, you know how serious my blemish problem is. Tsuya helped so much!

I completely forgot to add my SPF favorites in the family photo above - the Clinique Derma White City Block Anti-Pollution SPF40 and the Bobbi Brown Illuminating Face Base SPF25. The Bobbi Brown Face is, what can I say, the reason I am able to go out with no foundation. It really helps make the skin look smooth and glowing!

My current eye cream is the Benefit It's Potent! Eye Cream. It keeps my under eyes moisturized without the greasiness and keeps them in good shape. Great for maintenance, not for correction, but it will do.

And that's it. :) Hey, share your skincare routine too! Would love to snoop on your favorites as well. :D
