Avon Shine Attract Event with Anne Curtis
Anne Curtis is the hottest celebrity right now. After seeing her in person last week, I understand why! Up close, she looks exactly like she does on celluloid and print - drop-dead gorgeous, with an ultra-slim bod. Someone commented that she looks like a live Barbie doll and I gotta say that's not too far off the mark! #starstruck
Anne's looks aside, I really appreciated that she seems genuinely happy and excited to be there. It seems to be a good fit, Avon lipsticks and Anne Curtis. Anne is famous for her trademark red shiny lips while Avon makes some of the best lipsticks around (at least for me) - call it destiny, predetermination, natural selection!
So, what's the deal with the Avon Shine Attract Lipsticks? Basically, it's opaque lip color wrapped around a shiny gel gloss slash balm. We've seen lipsticks that have lip balms and/or gloss INSIDE a lipstick coating, but I think it's the first time that the opposite has been released.
I've been using these since I got it and I must say, I love the formula! It feels super lightweight on the lips and does give that shine. If you're a girl who likes applying balm, then lipstick, then lip gloss to get that shiny, moisturized finish on your lips, then this is a 3-in-1 product that I think you'll love.
However, it does have its drawbacks. It can be a challenge to apply evenly because of its form. It's also not as opaque and as long lasting as normal lipsticks. I do have a technique to make it look more pigmented, but that's a tip for another post, along with the complete swatches of the Shine Attract lippies. ;)

And that's it for now. The Shine Attract lipsticks will be available starting on May 1 from your favorite Avon ladies, so the wait is not too long. I'll be sure to post the swatches before they are released! ;) In the meantime, do let me know what you think of these lipsticks - are you intrigued, or will you pass?
