FOTD + OOTD: The little white dress

I love little white dresses, but they don't love me back. You see white is such an unforgiving color on less proportioned body types like mine. It can highlight bulges that no one even knows existed and make the body look much wider than it actually is. That's why I *try* to avoid white outfits, just to be safe!

Well, knowing all that, I still buy white dresses just because. They are so fresh to look at. There's something about wearing white that speaks elegance, clazz, and how good you are in kung fuing your way out of a ketchup stain. Fine, wine stain.

I bought this Dorothy Perkins dress two months ago, I think. (I do this a lot. I buy clothes and I just hoard them. Not proud of it actually.) I've never worn it until yesterday because I always felt like a fat nurse in it. -_- Or maybe I was just waiting for the right event to wear it to, which was certainly the case at last night's BDO x Bench launch at Salon de Ning, Manila Peninsula Hotel. I think it was the perfect dress for such a setting!

Since the dress was white throughout, I thought I'd play with little pops of color. I brought a hot pink clutch from Ferretti (it's actually a pouch in a tote bag, so ingenious!) and paired it with sage green pumps, also from Ferretti. I've been wearing these two items A LOT together lately since the combination is so summery.

As for accessories, I'm wearing a bangle set and ring from Pinkbox. I actually just picked out random bracelets from a set and just matched them with the clasp-on bangle.

Oh oh, the necklace is from Parfois. I love it SO MUCH. Got it last year and I've lost count on how many times I've worn it! 

And this is my FOTD haha. Not much to say here - I just did neutral brown eyes. Then I lined my eyes thickly and wore a super volumizing lengthening mascara (Majolica Majorca Lash King) to make my peepers look defined even in dark indoor lighting. 

I'm wearing a new lipstick here called the Makeup Forever Rouge Natural btw, in #39. It's a really nice peach salmon!
