Organic Beauty Week: Made by David Organics
Made by David Organics is one of the latest local beauty brands here in Manila. They are "all about providing you with carefully crafted products that are naturally healthy, generously nourishing, and sweet little pleasures to use", according to their About page. Sounds interesting right? Wait till you see the chic packaging and the price tag!
Made by David has an interesting hair range that includes shampoos and conditioners, masks, Dry Shampoo, Split End Sealer, and Hair Potion. Most (if not all) of the products are less than P300. Seriously! You can check the full product line here. I'll be trying out the Rose and Geranium shampoo and conditioner soon, as well as the Hair Potion since it promises to do wonders for curly hair. I'll let you know how they work!
For today though, I'll just be talking about the Made by David Hand Sanitiziers (P100/50ml).
I bring alcohol or wipes around but that doesn't mean I like how they smell. I also don't like the smell of cloyingly sweet hand sanitizers because they smell off when my hands get sweaty. That's why I would like something milder and herbier, which is exactly what these Made by David sanitizers are.
They have Green Tea & Lemongrass, Orange & Ginger, and Grapefruit & Sage. You smell exactly what it says on the label. My favorite is the Orange & Ginger mainly because I love ginger, but the other two are pretty nice as well!
The dry-down texture isn't sticky or weird at all even though there are essential oils in the formula. I wouldn't say that these hand sanitiziers are moisturizing though; this is mostly deionized water and ethyl alcohol. The oils just provide the scent.
Okay, the packaging. I like their interesting use of prints, and the gold Made by David logo looks classy and well-made. However, I wish they used a better quality printer and paper to give a more luxe feel to their products. Well, it will raise the prices I suppose, but I'm willing to pay a little more for better packaging. That's just me though! Would you?
Overall, the Made by David Organics Hand Sanitizers smell nice and don't feel sticky on my hands. I think they make great gifts this season, too!
