NOTD: Clinique A Different Nail Enamel in 27 Peek a boo, I see you

Beige nail polishes can make our warm-toned fingers look gray and dark. However, like everything else in the makeup world, beige is never really just beige. It comes in lots of variations to suit every skintone! That's what Clinique has set out to show us with its latest collection called 16 Shades of Beige.

This lovely selection is all about the neutral nude 'tude. Clinique introduces 8 limited edition A Different Nail Enamel (P820) polishes that serve as "foundation" for your nails. Choose a shade that's close to the color of your skin for a nude, elongated effect on your manicured tips, or pick a contrasting shade for a pretty, neutral statement.

The brand also came up with a new All About Shadow Palette in Neutral Territory 2 with eight soft-to-smoldering eyeshadow shades. The palette and nail polishes will be available in Clinique counters by January 2014, so this is an exclusive first look for you guys! ;)

Today, I want to show you one of the nail polishes. It's a dainty, lacey beige called Peek a boo, I see you.

I rarely like having beige on my nails, but this one is quite pretty! It made my nail bed look a bit dark since it's a pale color, but it's warm enough not to make my fingers look dead. I detect a bit of yellow in the formula, which makes it more wearable than your usual beige.

Pigmentation is so-so, however. I layered three times to get the opacity you see here.

Staying power is pretty good. It didn't chip for about two days! I like the glossy finish - you won't need to use a top coat to make it look brilliant.

My favorite thing about it? After wearing it for like five days my nails didn't look grayish or discolored in any way. I believe that Clinique's nail polishes are designed to be gentle on sensitive skin. I kinda doubted that, until I saw my nails looking healthy and not dried up after wearing this polish.

Overall, I recommend you try these new limited ed shades from Clinique if you're looking for a neutral nail polish to flatter your skin tone. The nude effect doesn't just apply to eyeshadows and foundation, you know! This is a little pricey, but the quality and respect for sensitive skin rather makes up for it, in my book. :)

So there you go. ^_^ Do you wear nude nail polishes?

The Clinique 16 Shades of Beige collection will be available in all Clinique counters on January 2014. Do follow Clinique Philippines on Facebook for updates.
