Lipstick love: Estee Lauder Pure Color Long-Lasting Lipstick in Fuchsia Fever
I've said this once and I'll say it again: Estee Lauder is no longer your lola's brand. They have actually finished reformulating their color cosmetics under the Pure Color line and I tell you, everything is fantastic! From eyeshadows, liners, nail polishes, down to the lipsticks EL has a lot of fabulous, rich shades for you.
To prove my point, here's my lipstick of the moment: The Estee Lauder Pure Color Long-Lasting Lipstick in Fuchsia Fever.
Yes, it is as daring as it looks! It's a bright, ultra creamy fuchsia that just glides on the lips like butter and smells like EL's signature fig scent. It's not drying at all even though it's designed to be long-wearing. While it's rich and heavy with pigment, I find that it doesn't feel thick on the lips even with a couple of layers.
The formula wears well during the day, up to four hours if you don't eat. It will fade when you do eat (as all lipsticks) but you'll get a nice, even stain in the process. You'll still have color without looking weird and that's what counts.
Oh, I just have to mention the packaging. It's encredibly luxe! The lipstick has a bit of heft and the gold cap doesn't feel flimsy. This has a magnetic closure so you won't hear a click - the cap will just slide smoothly (with a soft *shlock*) and slowly until the magnet holds. This tactile and auditory experience takes luxury lipsticks like this to a whole new level. They are no longer just makeup, they are objects to admire and cherish.
Fuchsia Fever is breathtaking. There's really no other word for it. It's the kind of shade that will make people ask what you're wearing, and they'll even think about it in odd moments during the day! (Have you ever done that? This happens to me when I see a fab lipstick :P) I like it even more because it's such a happy color. I mean, there are bright pinks out there - they are edgy, sexy, and/or young. But I wouldn't say they're a happy, cheerful shade. Does that make sense?
Overall, I am really enjoying the Estee Lauder Pure Color Long-Lasting Lipstick in Fuchsia Fever and will be putting it on heavy rotation. Such a nice find, this one! It also reminds me why using luxury brand lipsticks are an altogether different experience.
What hot pinks/ fuchsias are you loving at the moment?
As it happens, I'm also wearing an Estee Lauder nail polish here! It's called Bete Noire, from the Beyond Black collection.
