Clinique Week: Chubby Stick For Eyes
People pay so much attention to their eyebags, forgetting that the skin on the eyelids darken too. If the lids are dark and uneven then you'd still look tired even if you concealed your bags perfectly. So always use a brightening cream (or for that matter, powder) eyeshadow whenever you can.
Yes you can also use concealer on the upper lids but IMHO, your eyes naman would look too blanked out and one-dimensional, if you know what I mean. So I recommend using an eyeshadow in a flattering shade - it doesn't have to be neutral, it could be something smoky or colorful.
Cream is a great formula for quick eye looks, so today I'm gonna talk about something new, the Clinique Chubby Stick For Eyes (P920)!
I must admit that I was quite skeptical when I first heard about this. I've tried a Clinique cream eyeshadow before and it was sadly disappointing. However, I am pleased to report that the Chubby Stick For Eyes is worthy of being part of the popular franchise! This stick eyeshadow is pigmented and stays on the lids for hours even without primer.
That's not to say it doesn't crease. It does but it's very minimal (around the inner part of the lids) and only after four hours of wear. I'm honestly not bothered by it. Even the best eyeshadows with the best primer creases a little on me! It's not obvious anyway.
Massive Midnight is a navy blue with a velour finish. This could be used as eyeliner; just dip your brush on the tip!
I obviously loved this look. I just used my fingers to blend the color up to the crease, although next time I would probably use a synthetic round brush to do the job. It would be more precise that way.
I didn't use any other product on my eyes other than Massive Midnight! This didn't smudge at all by the way, even though I wore about two layers.
Pink and Plenty is a frosty peachy pink with golden shimmer. It's a nice, perky color on the lids! Subtle but not invisible. Great everyday shade to the office and to school.
This product is pretty cool because it's like eyeliner - once you apply it on the lids, you just need to wait for it to dry and set. A few seconds is all it takes. That means you must work fast if you want to blend it out properly!
I wish this cream eyeshadow can be creamier, more buttery. But I've observed that the more emollient cream shadow is, the less it stays put. I think that the stick form also limits how creamy it can get; nobody wants the tip breaking now would they? Still, it would be awesome to see Clinique make cream eyeshadow in a pot.
That's just minimal griping though. :) I love the Clinique Chubby Stick For Eyes because it's convenient, pigmented, and long-wearing. It's great to use by itself, or as a base for powder eyeshadow. Fairly straightforward. If you have very oily lids, I suggest you wear a primer, but on my normal to combi eyes this lasts pretty well.
