Lipstick Week: Avon Vitaluscious Lipstick
One week is not enough for lipstick week, it seems! I have three other features in mind for this, but I suppose I can always do another LW in the near future. ;) I decided to end this themed week with a bang, with something that I received just two days ago! I got pretty excited about these lipsticks because I'm a huge fan of the Avon Ultra Moisture Rich line, plus I know how y'all appreciate Avon swatches in particular.
The Avon Ultra Moisture Rich Vitaluscious Lipstick (P299) is the latest addition to the UMR line. It features ten on-trend glossy shades and a moisturizing formula that contains Vitamins B, C, and E. In terms of texture and lasting power, the Vitaluscious is the same as UMR - it's lightweight, slinky, and moisturizing, but it doesn't stay put beyond three hours. That's the trade-off for the moisture so I don't mind. I just re-apply as needed!
The scent is the same as all UMR lipsticks - juicy candied watermelon. I really love this scent, and I hope that they never discontinue it. It smells as expensive and fresh as high-end lippies.
I do wish that the Vitaluscious could be as pigmented as the Avon Totally Kissable Lipstick. Most of the lippies need to be layered over several times to get that solid color, unfortunately. But again, that's their trade-off for the heavy oil content! Actually, they feel more like glossy lip butters than legitimate lipsticks. I recommend that you just get Totaly Kissable if you're after the staying power.
Need to get this off my chest: the Vitaluscious names are...odd. "Chocoloxidant"? "Nude tritious"? Puns are fragile things. Either you pull them off or they come crashing over your ears. Haha. A+ for the effort though. :P Don't be fooled by what the names are hinting about the shade, by the way. "Renewing Rose" for example doesn't look anything like a rose shade - it's a coral pink! Just refer to the swatches below.
To summrize: If you're looking for glossy, high-shine colors and a moisturizing formula, then you will love the Avon Vitaluscious Lipstick. They're like lip butters in disguise! Vitaluscious is ideal for girls with dry, thin lips as the formula can help blah lips look fuller and fresher. ;) If you like the shade then you must grab it stat, as Avon UMRs sell out like hot cakes.
And now, the swatches! The Avon catalog can be a little wee bit misleading when it comes to lipsticks, so I thought of posting full lip and face swatches for your reference. Enjoy!
Nude Tritious is a nice warm nude shade. The pigmentation is marginally better than the other lighter colors!
Peach Fection is a nude peach. It's not very pigmented; I'd recommend Nude Trition if you want a new nude shade in your collection.
Vita Pink is a yellow-based baby pink
Renewing Rose is quite pretty, and fairly pigmented. It's more coral in person, but there's a good dose of pink in it too.
Renewing Sable is a warm, deep orange with strong brown undertones. This would be lovely on morena skin.
Pink Boost is another one of my favorites. It's a bubblegum pink with surprisingly nice pigmentation. It's not truly opaque, but I'm okay with the color pay off.
Rose Flush is a gorgeous everyday brown-based pink. It's a crowd pleaser, whether you're at school or at the office.
Reviving Red is a bright cherry red. I think it'll suit all skin tones! It's very similar to the Avon UMR Rose Lipstick in Carmen Red, so if you can't find that anymore, this is worth looking into. ;) Carmen Red is a bit deeper and less glossy though.
Wine Wellness doesn't look wine-y at all to me. It is a deep red that surprisingly borders on fuchsia. I love it! It's a unique shade in my book. Lovers of bright colors would definitely appreciate this one.
Chocoloxidant is a chocolate-y red. Pretty on the tube but unfortunately it's a bit streaky and not very pigmented. It's a nice affordable alternative for MAC Devil's Food (limited edition) but DF is darker and more solid-looking! Same idea though.
So there you go! Hope this helps. ^_^ I would love to know what your favorites are! What are you thinking of getting for yourself?
