Mascara Week: Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Edge Meister
Did you know that mascara is one of the oldest forms of cosmetics? It dates as far back as 4000 B.C., when ancient Egyptians would use crushed minerals, soot, crocodile stool, honey, and water to darken their eyes. They believed that masking their eyes would keep them safe from evil spirits. Today, women and men use mascara primarily for aesthetic purposes - to enhance their lashes and define their eyes. I'm just glad we lost the crocodile poop!
This week will be all about mascara at Project Vanity. I'll be reviewing some of the latest and most remarkable mascaras out in the market, and at the end of it, my top five picks. So! Let's begin with a reformulated version of one of Majolica Majorca's bestselling mascaras - the Lash Expander Edge Meister (P795)!
This is the most lengthening mascara I've ever tried to date. I swear, people always ask me if I'm wearing falsies whenever I have this on! This is actually the reason I'm not so fluent in applying false lashes - I mean, why bother when I can just wear Lash Expander and get the same effect?
Lash Expander Edge Meister is the updated formula of the original Majolica Majorca Lash Expander. I find that the fiberwig hairs are denser in the new formula, giving even longer and more volumized results. It also has less of that mascara smell; it's undetectable unless you give the brush a direct sniff.
The brush can be difficult to use in the beginning but it's nothing that a bit of practice can't solve! Use the flat-bristled end first to deposit the mascara on the root of your lashes, then use the comb to brush the product upwards (and upwards even more) to achieve great heights!
It sometimes scares me just how long my lashes can go when I'm wearing this. One coat is enough to give me considerably longer lash hairs, two coats look like falsies already, while three coats - wow - I won't even attempt it. Even though the lashes are lengthened they don't get goopy, spidery, and weighed down. They will stay up and curled all day, with zero smudging or smearing. It's waterproof!
BR666 is a dark chocolate brown while BK999 is glossy black
But this resilience comes at a price. The Lash Expander is probably the most difficult mascara to remove! I use an oil-based, heavy duty Shiseido eye makeup remover for this one, as anything less won't make it budge. It takes me two rounds of soaking and gently massaging my eye area to take all the gunk off.
Yes, removing this mascara takes a lot of time and effort, so I don't wear it as often as I'd like. But if I'm going to a special event or if it's rainy outside, I don't mind putting in the extra work. I really love the look of my lashes when I'm wearing this!
In other words, the Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Edge Meister is the best drugstore lengthening and long-wearing mascara for me. I highly recommend it if you're looking for a mascara that can keep up with you during parties or long work days. Its focus is on lengthening, so if you want fat, volumized lashes, you're better off with Majolica Majorca Lash King. That's the best for volume, IMHO.
Hope this helps! Have you tried Majolica Majorca mascaras yet?
