Love: Estee Lauder Double Wear Extreme Zero-Smudge Mascara

How many mascaras does a girl need? Honestly, you only need two. One should be a daily mascara that volumizes your lashes and is easy to wash off - no waterproof nonsense unless you have extremely oily lids! Then you need one mascara for special occasions, something that's waterproof and looks practically like falsies. You can layer these two to get different effects.

The Estee Lauder Double Wear Extreme Zero-Smudge Mascara (P1,350) is something that falls between those two categories. It blackens, fattens, and lengthens my lashes in just two coats, looking a little like falsies when I close my eyes. It's sooo black! And matte. 

I love that this doesn't smudge all day. Just yesterday I wore it from 10am to 6pm - eight whole hours - and it did not smuge at all. It has also never flaked or smeared on me (I've been using this for about two months now). Even though it's long-wearing, the Double Wear Extreme Mascara is super easy to remove with just a water-based makeup remover. This is currently my fave everyday mascara!

More things that I love about this mascara: it has a small, close-cropped wand that can reach the awkward corners of the eyes and coat bottom lashes evenly. Even though the spikes are short, they separate each lash hair efficiently without tugging.

The electric blue color is also quite striking. It makes the tube easy to find in a sea of mascaras! Very classy, along with the gold lettering and ribbed cap.

I do wish that it can get me more volume than this but it's nothing another layer can't solve. :) The Double Wear is also quite pricey for a mascara - there are other alternatives to try for sure. I've blogged about several mascaras from drugstore to high-end so you can definitely find something to suit your budget. However, if you love the wand and the packaging, then there isn't a mascara quite like it. That'd explain the price.

Overall, I highly recommend the Estee Lauder Double Wear Extreme Zero-Smudge Mascara if you have small eyes and/or very sparse, thin lashes. The tiny wand will be able to help you achieve a cleaner finish! It'll volumize and lengthen your lashes nicely, but don't expect it to be at party levelz. Which is just as well. I think this is better as a daily mascara.
