Love: The Smashbox On The Rocks Holiday Collection
Have you thought about your beauty resolutions for 2015? I've got a few, but my main one is to be more adventurous with my eyeshadow choices. Last year I was wearing mostly neutral eye makeup - if at all! I relied heavily on bright lipsticks but this year I want to go for loud eyes as my signature look.
For we all need a signature look. Pretty is pretty, but quirky is unforgettable.
Anyway! I want to share some swatches and info on Smashbox's exclusive holiday collection. Yes, the holidays are past us but I do believe that these products are a good deal and can be worn throughout the rest of the year. Here's what I have!
Let's start with the On the Rocks Be Legendary Lipstick Trio (P1,050). This is a set of three mini-lipsticks in shades that should suit any skin tone and occasion. The tubes are small enough to fit your purse, and contain 1.3 grams of product per tube. Together, these three minis will last you for as long as your average lipstick.
The three shades in the set are Legendary, a bright true red; Fig, a dramatic plum; and Primrose, a warm brown-based nude with touches of rose. The formula is very smooth, creamy, and not too drying (but do wear a lip balm still!). Just be careful - you might end up cutting the product from the base if you apply too much pressure.
I love all the shades, obviously. My favorite would have to be Fig though, since it's such a modern dark plum. No lola vibes here!
Swatches: Legendary, Fig, and Primrose
The On the Rocks Photo Finish Primer Duo (P2,100) contains full-sized tubes of the Photo Finish Foundation Primer and Hydrating Under Eye Primer. I immediately gravitated towards the hydrating primer since 1) I often get lazy with applying eye cream and this moisturizes nicely 2) It prevents my concealer from creasing hours later and 3) it has a slight shimmer which subtly brightens the under eye area.
Here's a swatch! I like multi-functional products like this for my under eyes since I'm not too regular with maintenance in that area. Yes yes I know. Eye cream is still queen. Try out this Smashbox primer though! ;)
I owe you a major swatch post with the On the Rocks Photo Op Eye Shadow Luxe Palette (P2,450), okay? I was supposed to include the swatches here but it's going to be too long; I also want to show different looks. Anyway. This is an awesome palette that is quite sulit for the price. You get 28 colors for P2,500 - I mean, that's quite a good deal, comparable to LORAC and Urban Decay palettes!
The quality of the colors are amazing and the selection is well thought out. I find the actual palette too bulky to bring around but the clutch-type packaging is lovely nonetheless.
Look at those pretty colors. <3 Below is a preview of how intense they are! I wore this crazy blue eyeshadow look to a dinner party and got so many compliments. Granted, I was in the company of my beauty blogger amigas who know how to spot good eyeshadow (lol). I had so much fun painting this on though!
I used the shimmery teal on the lids, the deep shimmery blue on the outer-v, and then the matte navy blue on the crease. I blended out the crease makeup with a tan color since I don't want any obvious lines.
I'm looking forward to playing with this palette even more. I suggest you get it if you're looking for a gorgeous colourful palette to add to your growing collection. ;) You better hurry though as the holiday products come in limited quantities!
