Shiseido Week: Sheer Eye Zone Corrector

Summer is a time for wearing brighter colors and sheerer face bases. Yes, you heard it right - sheer! The thicker and heavier your base is, the more likely it is to melt noticeably under the heat. So if you're out for a few hours (or all day) everyday, stick to foundations, concealers, and powder that cover your issues juuuuuuust enough, but no more. This is the secret to looking fresh even when you sweat and oil up!

Now one of my favorite ever concealers is the Shiseido Shiseido Natural Finish Cream Concealer. This offers heavy coverage and amazing staying power, plus the formula can be used for covering up blemishes and under eyes. There aren't many concealers that can do that! Nonetheless, I still love using sheer, brightening products on my eye bags. They appear more natural while still making my eyes look totes fresh (you'll see a pic later!).

That said, I am so happy I got a tube of the new Shiseido Sheer Eye Zone Corrector (P1,500+). This is a sheer, watery concealer that only offers light coverage yet seem to lift up my eyes with just one layer. It literally feels like nothing when worn! It also looks invisible as soon as you've blended it on. Your eyes will just look like they were lit up by ~magic~.

Staying power is pretty good - it barely fades during the day, even when I sweat. It tended to crease the first few times I used it but I realized it's just an application issue. It's best to apply only a small amount and to forget about setting it with powder. Unlike cream concealers, this sets completely.

Is that bright or what? Love how the concealer filled in the lines. I actually applied too much here (oops!) but you get the idea.

The shade I got is 103 Natural, which as you can see above is about three shades lighter than my actual skin tone. I prefer it that way! The formula is sheer and I want to get the full brightening effect of the concealer. I'm pretty good at blending my makeup though so I can get away with it. If you aren't, it's best to get a shade that's the exact match of your skin or at most one shade lighter.

What don't I like about the product? Hmm. It can be a bit difficult to blend since it sets quickly. You need to immediately start working it in as soon as you get the product off the brush! Also note that the coverage is just light to medium, at most. If you have very dark circles, this might not be enough to hide them.

Nonetheless, I still recommend the Shiseido Sheer Eye Zone Corrector to anyone who has puffy, dark under eyes like myself. It evens out that area beautifully while looking completely natural. It stays on in humid weather, as well, so you don't have to worry about looking like a tired racoon mid day! Haha. It's an excellent concealer and I will continue to use it. ^_^

Thoughts? Do you like sheer concealers under your eyes?
