Ellana Mineral Blush Duo in Obsession and Fulfillment

I was at an event one time just chatting with Donna of My Lucid Intervals. She's one of the loveliest people I know, both inside and out. I really admire how she's still able to blog, pursue her makeup artist career, and still be a full-time lawyer! People like her remind us that there's always time for the things we're passionate about. ^_^

Anyway, of course we got to talking about our favorite products. One of the things that came up is the Ellana Mineral Blush Duo (P450). This spiffy palette contains two blushes that are just - how do I say this mildly - perfect. The slight sheen makes skin literally glow and it actually looks better as the day wears on! Donna and I marveled about how a mineral blush has good staying power (5 hours) as well.

I have three of these, my favorite being the Kitten/Peach Passion combo, but recently I am "discovering" the Obsession/Fulfillment duo. Obsession is described as a "sheer raspberry red" while Fulfillment is "watermelon peach with gold shimmer". I love them both, as it makes my tired complexion look fresh in just a couple of layers.

Obsession has super fine silver glitter while Fulfillment has peachy gold glitter. I thought Obsession would be a little cool for my skintone but it works surprisingly well. I don't have a pic, unfortunately, but underneath is myself wearing Fulfillment. I love that the peachness does not disappear on my medium skin. Instead it becomes pinker than the swatch shows!

The packaging is white, stiff cardboard but since it's laminated it's easy to wipe off any mess. I love that it also contains 9 grams of product or about 4.5 grams per color. That's very generous considering the palette is only P450.

The formula is pigmented (but not too pigmented that you get clown cheeks in one go) and long-wearing, but it has a tendency to be too powdery. Just be careful when dipping your brush in so as not to pick up too much.

Also, if you have seriously oily skin and dislike shimmery makeup, this is not for you. It'll fade quickly and make you look shinier than you are. Dry to combo skin won't have problems though.

Overall, I highly recommend the Ellana Mineral Blush Duo in Obsession and Fulfillment. This should work with most skintones as a flattering palette! It's something you should try if you like natural, illuminating cheek colors!

Let me know what you think, y'all. What have you tried from Ellana so far?

You can find Ellana Minerals inside The Ramp Trinoma and Glorietta, as well as in Cinderella Megamall. You can also visit the store in our office, La Fuerza Plaza, Makati. You can also order online as well.
