Stila All Day Bronzer in Light

Automatically saying "busy" when people ask you how you are is the best way to kill a conversation. It implies that you don't even have time to answer properly, and it leaves the other person stumped for things to say. A good answer would involve a hobby or a mutual interest like reading books, watching TV shows/movies, or discovering a new restaurant. It can be anything, really! Just as long as you don't say "busy with work".

It's frustrating when other people tell me that. Of course we're all busy earning money. The more useful thing to know is what are you doing aside from working? Surely there's something else that lights you up!

So anyway, today I'd like to talk about another product I've been using to contour lately: the Stila All Day Bronzer (P845). This is a silky matte powder that can warm and tone up your face beautifully - even better, it's designed to be long-wearing seeing as it's part of a summer collection.

Yes, I know it hasn't been summer-like in Manila lately, but we all could still use something that enhances our complexion and face shape. This Stila bronzer would be it!

Texture and shade. This powder is silky, finely-milled, and well-pressed, but not so that you have to scrape for the product with your brush. The shade I have, Light, is perfect for my medium yellow skin tone - it's a matte neutral nutty brown and not orange-y at all! Really good if you don't want to look tan, just contoured.

Pigmentation is just right. I actually only need one layer to contour, versus sheer powders that require a couple or more layers to show up. This kind of pigmentation isn't something I'd recommend for beginners, but if you're used to contouring, then this should be a breeze to use.

That's a thick swatch up there! Below, I used the bronzer to contour my jawline, cheeks, and nose. I like that the powder is easy to feather out - it doesn't stick on skin stubbornly once you place it.

Staying power. I find that this Stila bronzer stays on my skin for a good five to six hours. Pretty good if I may say so! It's nice to use if you have oily skin and dislike face colors that fade waaay too easily.

Packaging and value. The packaging is a bit bulky for my taste, but I like that it doesn't look cheap n' tacky.  I was surprised to find out that this is only P845 for 9 grams! Well, Stila overall isn't expensive to begin with. It's nice that the brand over-delivers for what its products are actually worth.

Overall, I adore the Stila All Day Bronzer in Light and would recommend it to fair to medium girls of any skin tone. It's neutral enough to be universal, I think! It wears well throughout the day so oily skin would appreciate the formula too. It's a great substitute for pricier contour powders like Benefit Hoola. ^_^

So there you have it. How's your contouring technique? What do you use?

Stila is available inside Rustan's Essences.
