Quickie: Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Sparkle Shadow + Liner in Midnight Forest
What are you looking forward to in the very near future? It doesn't have to be huge like a trip or a promotion. It can be something small yet meaningful to you, like maybe shopping for a new outfit or watching that movie you've been waiting for a year to see. I think that's what makes life bearable - the fulfillment of little goals and desires that ultimately make you happy.
To answer my question I am looking forward to the travel fair at SMX this Friday. It's time to solidify my travel plans and I'm dreadfully excited to get tickets! But first I have to plow through a mountain of work and a couple of events to get there haha.
Anyway, I want to quickly talk about the Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Sparkle Shadow + Liner in Midnight Forest (~P1,500) first. This is actually pretty insightful of Bobbi Brown to make, as I remember loving one of her sparkly gel eyeliners as a cream eyeshadow. It's a load of sense to have something in her line that incorporates that dual purpose - eyeshadow and eyeliner in a single pot.
But does it work equally well? Honestly, no. I find the the Gel Sparkle Shadow + Liner is lovely as an eyeshadow but not really as an eyeliner. It takes me about two layers to get a nice smoky color on my lids and around three or four layers to get it to look like a solid line. It's not efficient as an eyeliner, in other words.
Once it sets though it stays there even without a primer. I just use my fingers to blend it on my lids to get a haphazard yet sexy smoky eye.
Midnight Forest is a beautiful smoky green shade with lots of twinkly sparkly bits. Below I am wearing it as an eyeliner - it is gorgeous but I'm just a bit bummed that I had to layer so much to get it to look opaque.
Perhaps the other shades do better in terms of opacity. ^_^ I love the color though so I might forgive how sheer it is and how much time I need to get it to look the way I want. Well. It's not everyday I get something so pretty on my eyes!
