An awesome 350-peso find: The Maybelline Great Lash Mascara
You know how sometimes oodles of people rave about a product so much that you start to think, "Eh, it can't be that good!" That's what I thought about the famous Maybelline Great Lash Mascara (P350). I've noticed that it's one of Lisa Eldridge's favorites, but I was still unconvinced. As these things go I had to try it out for myself to discover exactly what all the fuss is about!
I have the waterproof variant, a long-wearing formula that doesn't smudge or flake on me all day. It's perfect for this humid weather! It's a bit hassle to remove since I first have to soak it with a makeup remover dedicated to taking off waterproof stuff; it's nothing Bifesta or Shiseido for lips/eyes can't solve though.
Very Black is indeed quite black. Just two coats of this stuff does the job in providing much-needed contrast for my lashes.
Here's what two coats look like. See how curled and fat my lashes are? They're also separated neatly, with zero clumps. The applicator is about 2/3rds of the length and fatness of a typical mascara wand so it's easy to maneuver around the eyes.
Here's what the mascara looks like without eyeliner. It curls lashes perfectly no? And it's natural-looking enough for everyday wear.
Overall, I highly recommend the Maybelline Great Lash Mascara to anyone who needs something that's affordable, gorgeous on lashes, and totes reliable even in the oiliest of lids. It takes a bit of work to remove but it's worth it. I read that the Washable formula isn't so good since it smudges, so it's best to stick with the Waterproof IMO.
What do you think? Does this look like your next favorite mascara?
