Hello from Tokyo Part 5
Konnichiwa! I am blogging from my hotel room here in Tokyo. I'll be leaving in a bit to meet a friend, but I just wanted to update you about what's been up so far. I have unlimited wifi which means that I'll have tons of posts over at @lizlanuzo on Instagram as the days go by! I'm using the #lizintokyo hashtag if you'd like to follow my adventures. ^_^
I woke up very early this morning just before dawn. As I looked out the window and saw the pink sun rising up the city line, I realized that this is exactly why I work so hard. I want to be able to experience this as often as I can for as long as I live. Tokyo is my favorite place in the world - all the stark beauty, the energy, the creativity, I want to breathe it. It inspires me more than any experience I've had so far in my life.
Upon arriving at Narita via Japan Airlines, I immediately booked a bus going to my hotel. It was four degrees outside, so cold I could barely feel my face and hands! Good thing I brought lots of layers, a coat, and boots with me.
Here's the lobby of the hotel where I'm staying. So happy to find out that it's nicer than I expected.
My room! As with all the hotels I've stayed here, it's small but efficiently arranged. Wish it has more power outlets though.
After fixing my things and changing into something warmer, I explored my hood. I'm staying in the Ikebukuro area - my first time to. I usually stay in the Yaesu/Ginza area. Here it's a lot more lively! I was out until 1230 am last night and there were still lots of young people in the streets.
My dinner. It was so cold, only ramen could fix it! So that's it for now. ^_^ Hope you enjoyed my mini travelogue!
