Swatched: The Maybelline Velvet Matte Lip Color

Last month, I got first dibs on the new Maybelline Velvet Mattes (P299) as a columnist for BeautyMNL. They weren't out in physical stores yet but BeautyMNL was generous enough to provide me samples to play with! That said, I'm really enjoying this liquid lipstick as they have such a creamy texture and offer a pretty selection of bold shades. The packaging is the same as the older liquid lippies of Maybelilne but this time it has a black matte rubber grip instead of metallic.

The brush is different, too - it has a slight rounded notch in the middle to better hug the lips It's pretty ingenious!
