The Aritaum Ginger Sugar Lip Mask is the lip savior you've been waiting for

One of the hazards of my job is dry, flaky lips. When you have to swatch 20 liquid lipsticks in one sitting, that's simply impossible to avoid! The weather also affects how flaky my lips get. Cooler weather means drier lips and that's even with a humidifier on all night. I'll be traveling to Tokyo again soon and already I'm dreading the painful lip peeling!

Luckily, I saw some raves about the Aritaum Ginger Sugar Lip Mask (P430 at Althea) on Reddit and decided to try it out. Fans swore that it healed their flaky lips overnight - it can make one raise an eyebrow, but it was a cheap enough addition to my cart. So is it as good as people say it is?

YES.

A little goes a very, very long way with this one. It looks like a balm but that illusion is shattered once you dip into the pot and slather it on your lips. It's a lip mask, you see - it coats lips in a thick yet comfortable, non-sticky layer all night and until morning. When I wear it overnight, my flakes easily rub off in the AM. My lips feel super hydrated and soft, ready for another round of lipstick swatching or long-lasting lipsticks that need to be layered.

It works by trapping moisture in your lip area. Instead of that precious moisture evaporating while you sleep, it's sealed in along with the oils, butters, and waxes of the lip mask. By the way, this is barely anything like ginger or sugar in the taste and smell department. It's tasteless and has only a very mild citrus/ginger scent.

Actually, you can even wear it during the day on top of a stain if you need some color. It's super comfortable and just looks like a normal gloss.

My bare lips with the Aritaum Ginger Sugar Lip Mask on. Told you it looks normal!

Overall, I highly, highly recommend the Aritaum Ginger Sugar Lip Mask to anybody who needs some overnight (or even daytime) TLC for their lips. I reckon this is perfect for those who forget to apply lip balm during the day or who have just had chapped lips since day one. It's not hopeless! This Lip Mask might just be the one you've been waiting for. ;) As for me, I will definitely keep it in my dresser and use it whenever my lips are feeling flaky.

Have you tried lip masks? What's your experience so far?
