Love Loudly and Proudly: Benefit Celebrates Pride Month with a Fabulous Drag Bingo Party
Last year for Pride Month 2023, Benefit Cosmetics hosted a wonderful party that left everyone buzzing, and it looks like it's becoming an annual tradition! This year, they went all out with a high-energy Drag Bingo Party at Rampa Drag Club, fully embracing the theme "Love Loudly, Love Proudly" for Pride Month 2024.

The location is an inclusive space in Quezon City where drag queens perform regularly. For Benefit's party, Drag Race PH Season 1 queen Eva Le Queen hosted and performed in the event with Myx Chanel, Amazing Chalita, and Tiny Deluxe also taking the stage. There were toss games with Jellytime, tote designing with Print and Press PH, Bingo games and of course, a brow session by Benefit Cosmetics.

Pride Month festivities are often vibrant gatherings as this is the time where the LGBTQ+ community come together to celebrate the wins gained and to push more for a society wherein expressing yourself is met with love, acceptance, and equality. In our country, one of the ongoing concerns is the passage of the SOGIESC (sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression and sex characteristics) Equality bill. These Pride Month events are also a means to bring awareness to the public about such issues.
As an international brand, Benefit Cosmetics has also provided support to the LGBTQ+ community as an ally in other countries. According to the It Gets Better non-profit organization, an Ally is defined as "someone who supports equal civil rights, gender equality, and LGBTQ+ social movements". In 2023, they partnered with Queer illustrator Sofie Birkin for their Pride Campaign which includes the Benefit Cosmetics float for the San Francisco Pride and a $10k donation to the Trevor Project, an LGBTQIA+ charity and suicide prevention organization.
While LGBTQ+ events often shine brightest during Pride Month in June, the spirit of inclusivity and acceptance should be celebrated all year long. Every day is an opportunity to champion diversity, embrace individuality, and support the LGBTQ+ community. Inclusivity means creating safe and welcoming spaces where everyone feels valued and heard, not just during one month, but throughout the entire year. It’s about recognizing and honoring the unique identities and experiences that make our community vibrant and strong. By celebrating these values daily, we can foster a culture of love, respect, and unity that transcends beyond Pride Month and becomes an integral part of our everyday lives.
