The Estee Lauder Pure Color Lipstick is like a silk slip for your lips

Gloomy days call for exceptional lipsticks. One of the best formulas out there is the Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Lipstick (P1,700) due to its full, creamy coverage that seems to hug the lips in a silky, moisturizing embrace. It has a lovely sweet fig scent which I find so elegant, and the bullet! Oh my, it feels so luxurious as it closes with a smooth magnetized click.

Now the Pure Color Envy Lipsticks actually come in several variants - there's the basic Lipstick with a creme finish, the ShineMatte, and Liquid Lip Potion. This August 20, they are coming out with the Hi-Lustre (P1,700)! This formula has fine metallic shimmers that lends it a lustrous frost finish, but we're not talking early 2000s frost here, ok. We're getting that modern metallic flash that looks sexy as it hits the light.

The Hi-Lustre has Pure Color Envy's signature ultra-buttery texture that melts on the lips almost instantly, and dries down into a comfortable layer of color. It sticks on the lips for a good 4-5 hours and doesn't require lip balm as primer.

The Hi-Lustre shade I have, Slow Burn, is a rich sienna red with subtle, fine gold frost. It's not spackly at all as you can see in the swatch. The other shades I swatched here are two Pure Color Lipsticks I have also recently acquired - Rebellious Rose, a brightening rosy best-seller, and Irresistible, a mauvey brown that a trendsetter like Kendall Jenner will not hesitate to wear.

Just to shake things up, I decided to show you an ombre lip wearing Impulsive (a pink nudey creme also from the PCE line) as base with Slow Burn blended on the inner lips. I love the seamless gradation of the two shades! Just goes to show how creamy these tubes of color are. <3

A note: these lippies are delicate so you might want to store them in a cool corner of your office or home. They are so creamy that they can melt easily, which in fact happened (partially) to my tube of PCE last year. Keep them in the fridge if you don't mind. Otherwise, I think you'll love these lipsticks if you want something that's both luxurious and beautiful on your lips!

Hope you're having a great Monday! There are no classes everywhere due to the monsoon but as it happens, it's not even raining at all. There's just this gloom which I hope this lipstick review was able to lift, even for a little bit. ;)
