Five fall eye makeup looks to try for the ber months

With December fast approaching, it definitely feels like the holiday season is upon us! Have you prepped your party looks yet? Before going full on with the holiday glam, we’re taking a look at five fall makeup trends that can be easily incorporated to our FOTD repertoire. And one of the easiest ways to spice it up for our theoretical fall season? Focus on the eyes!

Turn up the cool with frost

This eye trend uses shimmery shades of light – think white and silver on your lids! A single wash can add enough glow to your eyes while putting the focus on your lip color. Or, go for ice cold with a monochromatic look. In case you don’t have the glittery eyeshadows, reach for your frostiest highlighter! Think along the lines of Colourette x The Kings Facegloss Highlighter in Aura (P1,299 at Colourette).

Go glam with glitter

This year’s glitter eyeshadows have come a long way – no huge chunks of kiddie glitter here! The finishes turn out almost molten and metallic, like the glitter fused together to create these tiny, velvety sparkles of color. You can add an accent shadow like 3CE’s One Color Shadow in Sparkling in Star Seed (P503 at Sephora.ph) over your usual, or go for one of holiday’s gorgeous palette releases like Huda Beauty’s Nude Eyeshadow Palette (P4,070 via Sephora.ph).

In case you want to be a bit more bold and adventurous with the glitter looks, check out this tutorial on Glitter 3 Ways using the BYS Glitter Face and Body Kits (P599 at SM Beauty). There's also the Glitterally Obsessed Body Glitter from Bretman Rock's collab with Colourpop ($8 at Colourpop.com) for the latest in the glitter gel hybrids.

Build up with brights

This trend uses colors that are bright and somewhat unusual, like fuschia, orange, yellow, and light pink. Choose a single color and apply it on the entire lid. Add some mascara and eyeliner then you're good to go! Palettes like the EB Advance Uncover 2 (P395 at Watsons and Lazada) allows you to select a shade for this look while still creating other neutral looks.

For newbies to using bright eyeshadow, vibrant loose pigments like the Ellana Minerals Loose Multipurpose Pigments in Crush (P299 at ellanacosmetics.com) can be a good starting point that’s easy on the pocket. The Suesh Eyeshadow Pots (P145 on sale at BeautyMNL) are also another affordable option with their wide selection of colors. You might not want to buy a palette for a single color, especially if your makeup kit is pretty much set.

Alternatively, you can use a bright matte blush as eyeshadow! A wearable look was demonstrated by makeup artist Anthea Bueno during the Laura Mercier Blush Colour Infusion workshop. For a more affordable option, try Vice Cosmetics Aura Cheek in Manyika or Winner (P145 via vicecosmetics.com.ph).

Elevate your gaze in two tones

If you tune in to Liz's Facebook lives over at the Project Vanity FB page, you may have seen this look when she announced the PV x Ellana collab. She used a bright pink and a deep violet using the Pat McGrath MTHRSHP Subversive La Vie En Rose Eyeshadow Palette, which is unfortunately not yet available in the country. As an alternative, try L’Oreal Pocket Palette Eye Shadow in Violet Amour (P350 on sale at BeautyMNL) or Urban Decay’s Naked Cherry Eyeshadow Palette (P3,500 at Sephora.ph).

You can also use other two-tone color combinations such as oranges and reds like Heart's as long as the overall effect is bright and striking!

Beyond the basic lines with color

Blacks and browns are the usual eyeliner shades we wear for everyday, so shake things up with a trendy colored eyeliner! It's usually applied on the top lash line but if you can pull it off, why not apply it all around?

Bright shimmery colors give off party vibes, while deeper colors are wearable even for everyday. A strong brow, dark lashes, and an MLBB lip shade will make the color stand out more! The Etude House Play 101 Pencils (P348 at Etude House) has a wide range of shades while the Cargo Swimmables Eye Pencil in Karon Beach (P895 at Beauty Bar) can even pass a swimming test with flying colors.

Vibrant metallic eyeshadows can also work as colored eyeliners if you apply it with a tiny eyeliner brush. Try Inglot’s AMC Freedom System Eye Shadow Shine Square in Shade 40 (P575 at Inglot).
