Hot Right Now: The Happy Skin x Havaianas collab is the perfect summer combo
When Happy Skin first launched their Express Gel Polish line last year, it was quite a hit as many swooned over the flattering nude polish that seemed especially picked for Filipina skin. This summer, Happy Skin expanded their shade offerings and teamed up with Havaianas to ensure that our vacays are made better with fashionable sandals and chic nail polish!
The Havaianas You Metallic Collection features flip-flops with metallic, vegan leather straps in seven different colors. There's a good mix of both neutral and vibrant colors, and costs P1,499/pair. In line with this, Happy Skin introduces three new shades to their express gel polishes that would perfectly complement your footwear. Hero is a versatile, every-girl nude that looks more taupe compared to their first release. I instantly fell in love with the teal hue of Wanderer though as I feel that lively shades also help to brighten up the color of my skin. The most unique of the three would be Goddess, an iridescent white. It looks gorgeous on its own as a faint wash of color that turns blue and pink when reflecting light, but it can also be layered on top of other colors to give it dimension.
I love that these gel polishes are 2-in-1 products, so there’s no need for a separate base coat! These are also 10-free, meaning they don’t contain the top 10 toxic and irritating ingredients in nail polish. In keeping with the Happy Skin philosophy, even their polishes are formulated with nourishing ingredients such as hydrolyzed keratin and almond oil to keep nails strong.

They also claim to be fast-drying, long-wearing, and chip-resistant. After applying a top coat, I just waited for about 20 minutes to let my nails dry, and went back to wearing my closed shoes. When I checked at the end of my day, my pedicure was perfectly intact! As for it being long-wearing and chip-resistant though, I find that it’s not so much the case for me. My manicure started to chip away by the third day, but do note that I’m very careless with my hands so maybe others will have better luck. On my feet though, the polish stayed intact and glossy for a much longer period of time!
