Kiss-Proof and Transfer-Proof: Trying Out the MAC Locked Kiss Ink lippie
MAC, one of the OG lipstick brands, has recently launched a new lip product, the MAC Locked Kiss Ink (P,1800 / 4ml). This liquid lipstick promises to lock in 24 hours of weightless, rich matte color with a kiss-proof, transfer-proof, and waterproof formula. I tried out this product, and here's my take on it.
Shade Selection
The MAC Locked Kiss Ink comes in a bold array of colors, including the blue-red Ruby True, the intense corally pink Hyperbole, and the mauve nude Opulence. I tried out two shades - Vicious, which is an intense burnt orange and a Lazada bestseller, and Mischief, a light pinky nude with a "my-lips-but-better" vibe. These shades remind me of the classic liquid lipsticks that dry down matte. However, despite the resulting finish, the product felt surprisingly comfortable on my lips. This is due to the passion fruit oil, coconut oil, and shea butter that MAC has added to the formula.
Wearability
The MAC Locked Kiss Ink is a lightweight formula that doesn't feel tight on the lips. During the launch event, MAC recommended letting the liquid lipstick set for two minutes before smacking the lips together. This ensures that the formula has dried and won't budge. With proper lip preparation, there is no transfer on the glass when drinking water after applying the lipstick. However, oily food may cause some movement, and the inner portions of the lips are the first to peel off, which is more noticeable when wearing a darker shade like Vicious.

At the launch event, MAC also introduced the members of the MAC Crew 2023. The brand representatives include Cassy Legaspi, Marina Summers, Nate Javier, Ry Velasco, and Ysabel Ortega. We can look forward to seeing more of their work with MAC in the future.
