Origins now has sheet masks, and they're only P150
I first fell in love with the facial masks from Origins at their Mask Madness party, where I got to try their best-selling the skin-smoothing Original Skin and pore-cleaning Clear Improvement masks. Both are fantastic wash-off formulas but as I've gotten used to a Korean-type skincare regimen, I wanted a sheet mask that I could apply at the end of my routine and just leave on. My wish came true with the arrival of the Origins Flower Fusion Sheet Masks (P150)!
Sheet masking is my favorite at-home skincare treat because it's easy to apply and there's no need to clean up after - perfect for when I just want to relax and binge on my K-dramas. At the launch of Origins new arrival though, we were treated to a therapeutic afternoon of doing flower arrangements! Floral stylists Diane Yap and Lauren Silverio of Petalier patiently taught us how to recreate their luxury boxed blooms to beautifully showcase our new masks. I was surprised to discover how relaxing it is to pick out flowers and arrange them to create a pretty, floral background.
Inspired by the fresh flowers that we'd been working with, we eagerly listened to Origins sales and training coordinator Samantha Lim talk about their new products. The brand has always been known for their effective botanical skincare so for their first ever sheet masks, they decided to use floral oils and essences to create a one of a kind masking experience. Available in six variants, the Flower Fusion sheet masks each feature a flower for different skin-caring properties: Lavender (soothing), Raspberry Flower (refreshing), Violet (nourishing), Rose (hydrating), Jasmine (softening), and Orange Blossom (radiance boosting). Of course, the masks are delicately scented to make the experience feel like a luxurious pampering session!
I have a very sensitive nose and usually prefer for my skincare to not smell like anything but as with everything I've tried from Origins so far, I honestly fell in love with the scent of these masks. It deliberately has a pronounced scent compared to the other sheet masks that I've used but I really liked how it smelled dainty, refined, and nothing like the sharp synthetic notes of commercial fragrances.
The mask itself was a thick, soft material made from 100% bamboo. I like how it feels sturdy and not easily torn! It did feel a bit heavier on my skin though so I tried not to talk or move my face too much while I had it on.
Now, my absolute favorite thing about these masks: the essence was absolutely perfect! It was a bit viscous but not heavy, and I didn't have to worry about it dripping around while on my face. Best of all, it isn't the least bit sticky! I usually end up washing and soaping my hands after patting the remaining mask essence on because the formulas usually leave a tacky feeling. This one felt like it was just completely absorbed by my skin, which felt soft and supple after masking.
Origins recommends that the mask be worn for only 10 minutes so when I removed it, the mask was still pretty damp. I wadded it up and wiped the used mask all over my arms and legs as I usually do after any sheet masking session, but this time, there was no sticky feeling to deal with afterwards!
These masks seem pretty awesome and all, so surely they must cost a fortune? Apparently not! The masks are just P150 a pop, which is very reasonably priced even in comparison to Korean sheet masks (I've seen some go as high as P700 per sheet!). Do take note that these are more specialized masks that are meant to be used as a weekly treat rather than for a daily masking habit, so it would be unfair to compare it with those kinds of sheet masks.
Do you use sheet masks in your skincare? Which of these masks would you want to try?
