As a dry-skinned gal, I may not have to worry about a shiny T-zone or eyeliner smudging but my concerns are of a different nature. Having dry skin means that I'm more prone to wrinkles, skin irritations, and an ashy-dull complexion. It doesn't have that lush, sudsy texture that most facial washes do, but that's actually why it's so much better for your skin. A lot of additional chemicals are needed to create a rich lather, and while it may feel nice while you're slathering it on, they can strip your skin's natural oils and leave your skin feeling dry and tight.
