Staff Picks: Our current go-to products for on fleek eyebrows
The greatest beauty mistake of my life lasted ten years. I grew up in the 90s - the era of brown lipsticks, spaghetti strap tops, Rachel hair, and yes, skinny brows. It makes me cringe to see photos of myself from that time, and it took me another decade to finally grow out my eyebrows to their originally full state. Suffice to say, I spent those ten years looking for products that would temporarily resurrect my missing kilay!
My brows are in much better shape now but like my fellow PV girls, the obsession for perfect kilay is real. Here's what we're currently using to cheat our way into brow nirvana!
Liz: I can wax poetic about my fave eyebrow products (I have done so live, as a matter of fact!) but let me keep this short. I choose my kilay product depending on where I'm going. Here are my current faves:
If I only literally have 10 seconds to do my eyebrows before tennis, I pick up the Clio Kill Brow. Don't bother with the one that has a felt tip + mascara duo - just get the mascara one! It shades and keeps brows in place even when I'm sweating like crazy.
The Make Up For Ever Brow Mascara is my go-to for setting any eyebrow makeup in place. It's indispensable when I'm out running a PR event all day, for example, and need to look extra polished!
The Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil makes lovely soft brows easy with just a few strokes. I like it for when I'm just stepping out since it's easy to perfect.
The Make Up For Ever Brow Gel is water-resistant, smudge-proof, and makes for the smoothest, sleekest kilay on the block! This is an all-around product for me.
Den: I'm currently fixated on doing soft, Korean-inspired brows so the products I've been reaching for are all about natural-looking definition. Most days, I simply apply the Jordana Fabubrow Shape & Set Gel to both fill my arches and keep hairs in place. I use an angled brush to do this though, so I can evenly cover the area underneath. When my brow shape is more unruly, I outline with the Make Up For Ever Prosculpting Brow first before topping with the gel.
Angela : The BYS brow gel gives me the fully made-up eyebrow look. I really like it but I would only use it when I have five extra minutes for eyebrow prep alone. I would also only use it if I am home because the gel is in a pot and you would still need to use the brush it comes with. The next best thing is the Witch's Pouch Selfie Perfect Eyebrow that I got from Althea. It's such an affordable pencil and even comes with a refill! It makes my eyebrows look really made up without any hassle. Now if I want my eyebrows to look just naturally thick, which is what I prefer most days, I'd use the K-Palette Real Lasting Eyebrow Pen. It's just the best for that look. It lasts from morning to evening even with sweating.
Katsy : For lazy days or if I'm going on a trip, I make sure to prep with the Clio Tinted Tattoo Kill Brow. Then it's a toss up between the Happy Skin Eye Love View Too Microtip Eyebrow Pencil & Spoolie Duo and the Happy Skin Glam Squad Arch Definer & Brow Mascara for polished yet natural looking brows. Finally, I just reach for my current brow mascara on rotation, the Jordana Fabubrow Shape & Set Gel if I haven't trimmed my brow hairs yet and they need to stay in place.
Nina : When Benefit released their ever-so-famous brow collection, I knew I needed to get my hands on at least one of their products. Since my eyebrows pretty much look fine with or without product, I chose the Brow Zings in the shade number 4. It comes with wax to fill your brows in, powder to set the wax, dual-ended brushes to apply the product, and even a tiny pair of tweezers. To prolong the wear time of this product, I set it with Anastasia Beverly Hills’ Clear Brow Gel to keep them in place (and on my face!). With these products, there’s not much of a need to create hair-like strokes. They’re easy to put on and they look great in photos! Definitely my ride or die brow products.
Crystal : I try to keep my eyebrow routine simple so I just use one product to fill in my brows and a brow mascara to color my brow hair and keep it in place. The K-Palette Real Lasting Eyebrow Pen that I got from the PV Anniversary kit was the first eyebrow product I've ever gotten from the brand. I finally understand why it's so popular! There is a learning curve to it but when done right, the results are natural-looking eyebrows. For brow mascara, I like Etude House Color My Brows. I use the lightest shade now because of my hair color. I like the wand of this one because it doesn't get too much product. I'm on my third tube of this already!
Charlie : I love brow tints more than any other formulations because they can withstand my constant eyebrow-rubbing and last the whole day. I've been in love with The Face Shop's Ink Graffi Eyebrow Tint Pen since I first started using it. Application is a bit tricky as it has a really thick tip but I like that it stays on until I get home. I use it alternately with K-palette's Real Lasting Eyebrow. I love how I can achieve natural full looking brows with it! To keep my brow hairs in place and tidy, I like using a clear mascara or tinted ones from Jordana and Benefit.
Gett : Ever since I got hold of a holiday K-Palette set that included the eyebrow pen, mascara, and eyeliner, I have never turned back. The 1 Day Tattoo Real Lasting Eyebrow pen is great for making hair-like strokes! I have somewhat full brows with some bald spots so the pen is nice for filling those areas in without overloading my brow with product.
I also usually put on eyebrow mascara because I like to color my hair and my brows are quite black. K-Palette 1 Day Tattoo Real Lasting Eyebrow Mascara is great at giving color, but what I love most about this is how teeny tiny and perfect the brush head is so it loads the right amount of product on my brows! Sometimes I like to use it alone since it also helps in making filling in bald spots.
