Amidst the brave and the beautiful: Project Vanity’s 14th Anniversary Event
“Oh, we have one gentleman here,” said Dr. Rica Cruz while looking at me, in the middle of her talk about women sexual empowerment. Taken by surprise, I responded, “Yes! Power to all the women!”
Project Vanity celebrated its 14th Anniversary last August 27 at the Rockwell Club in Makati, and it was an afternoon filled with beauty, stories and most importantly, conversations. Now, in true beauty roundup fashion, I’d like to go through them one by one.
You're invited: The Project Vanity Brave & Beautiful 14th Anniversary Event
This year, our theme is Brave & Beautiful for our 14th Anniversary Event, and you’re invited as always! It’s happening on August 27, Saturday, and Palm Grove at the Rockwell Club, Makati from 1-5PM.
We have amazing speakers in our line up to talk about their stories of reinvention, self-discovery, and determination.
Get it ASAP: The Project Vanity 13th Anniversary Kit is here!
The Project Vanity annual anniversary event is something I look forward to, and I can’t wait for the day that we can celebrate in person again. I miss the talks, the catching up, and of course doing all it in our best pink looks. But that doesn’t mean that we’re skipping our kit this year! In fact, we have our most luxurious one yet, as we partner with Estée Lauder, MAC, Bobbi Brown, and Clinique for the first time to bring you some of my best finds for statement yet stress-free beauty.
Who empowers you? Inspiring stories from the PV Community
Project Vanity usually celebrates its anniversary with a big event. Since we can’t do that this year, I would like to share stories that I hope will brighten up your day! Last month, we asked our community to talk about the most empowering figure in their life. We all have one - maybe even a few - who made us better, stronger, as we go through our daily struggles. I chose two entries that spoke to me and perhaps you will be inspired as well. May this be a reminder that we have deep reserves of strength to be found in those who love us.
Happy reading!

You're invited: Imperfect Yet Empowered, Project Vanity’s 12th Anniversary Event
When I wrote “It's okay to be ugly. What's not okay is to give up on yourself.” last December, I didn’t expect it would resonate with people as much as it did. That’s why when we were thinking of the theme for this year’s 12th Anniversary, we wanted to explore this idea more. In a world where it is impossible to be perfect, what are the ways in which we can empower ourselves?
Beauty But Better: A recap of PV’s 11th Anniversary Event
11 years strong - what a crazy feat! Whenever I think about how far Project Vanity has come, my heart swells with pride and joy. I’ve been a PV reader since 2012 and a writer since 2016. I’ve seen firsthand how much the content has evolved and how big the community has grown. I feel very grateful that I found this space that Liz built on the internet many moons ago. Project Vanity to me has always been a fun, safe space to celebrate beauty with smart and passionate women.
Beauty But Better: You're invited to Project Vanity's 11th Anniversary Event!
You guys might know that I started Project Vanity while I was still in college. It was a simple review blog featuring the best makeup that my public school allowance can buy - i.e. not much! I was a different person back then, being utterly self-conscious and secretly ashamed that I looked like the way I did. Now, I am myself. I run a pretty good business with an amazing team, living a dream that didn’t even cross my mind whenever I thought about my future, 11 years ago.
Project Vanity 10th Anniversary Recap: Through the lens of a first-time attendee
I started reading Project Vanity roughly two years ago. At the time, I wasn't an active subscriber - I would only drop by the site every so often but what really hooked me in was the Project Vanity Facebook page and community. The community posts were interesting and engaging, and I enjoyed Liz's GRWM vids. Occasionally, I would open the links to articles shared from the PV website, but it was only a year or so ago that I found myself opening it habitually.
Project Vanity: Five Years of Vanity Event
A lot of readers have requested me to do a meet and greet in the past, and I want to do one too because - what else - I want to meet you! Some of you guys have been reading this blog since the beginning, and you can't believe how much I'm choking up just thinking about that. It's been five years of vanity, of learning, and sharing how we could be better women both inside and out. Half a decade, huh? I want to do something special to celebrate that with you guys.
I've been thinking how to do this for quite a while, and I finally figured it out. What if I did it in one of my favorite places in the world, with some of my favorite beauty brands? And that's when my brain went ding ding ding! Haha. Presenting, the Project Vanity: Five Years of Vanity Event!
It will be held at Beauty Bar Bonifacio High Street (on top of Muji) on March 9, 2-4pm and will be co-sponsored by K-Palette, Fairydrops, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, and of course Beauty Bar. It will be a fun afternoon of mingling with other beauty enthusiasts, coffee, and freebies! I will be doing a demonstration showing a quick but high-impact everyday look, and of course I'll be doing a Q&A on all your beauty concerns. It's like Ask Liz! live and on crack. ;)
