The beloved Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum has introduced some major innovations
Innisfree is a brand that is sure to be in every beauty enthusiasts’ radar for its numerous best-sellers and cult-faves. It’s no secret that their Green Tea skincare line is one of the brand’s most popular and enduring collections. This isn’t actually my first time trying the Green Tea Seed Serum, so I’m glad to have a basis of comparison. The consistency of the 4th gen version does appear to be slightly thicker than its predecessors, though the cloudy coloring of the runny gels are essentially the same. I get about the same level of mild tackiness, so it's a relief to know that more Hyaluronic Acid types doesn't necessarily translate to stickiness once on the skin.
The next morning, I notice that the new formula has a softer, more emollient feel to the touch once it becomes fully absorbed. I have tried going to sleep with no other skincare products apart from this serum, and I don’t wake up with any pesky flakes. So, yes, it really is THAT hydrating.
One more difference I noticed was the scent. I'm used to the earlier version smelling sweeter like brewed iced tea, but this newer one seems to have a fruity-herbal twist that reminds me of guava. Not a huge leap, but more of a nuance.
Methinks longtime fans will not be disappointed with these changes, especially because you’re still getting a lightweight formula but with more moisture. And those previously unfamiliar with this hero product should add the Green Tea Seed Serum to their Kbeauty bucket lists. Considering how cutthroat the Korean skincare industry is, the longevity of this line is a pretty solid indicator of its tried and trusted status.
