If you ever wished makeup is chocolate, the Lunasol Autumn 2015 Collection is for you

There's makeup, and then there's luxe makeup. High-end brands trade on more sophisticated colors, the creamiest textures, and the most delightful scents to deliver an experience. It might not be an experience you can afford or even want, but it is guaranteed to be seductively pleasurable in a way drugstore cosmetics are not.

That said I was thrilled to receive Japanese brand Lunasol's Autumn 2015 Collection. It is inspired by the richest, meltiest, and darkest chocolate, designed to stimulate not just the eyes but the nose. Everything has a chocolate scent especially the lip products. It's so close to the real thing that some come with a literal warning label reminding women to keep it away from kids!

I love the autumnal colors - bitter browns, earthy pinks, iridescent bronzes, and creamy beiges rule the palette. There is the Selection De Chocolat Eyes (quad eyeshadow palette), Duo De Chocolat Eyes (duo palette), the Styling Gel Eyeliner (liquid), the Full Glamour Lips (lipstick), Melty Chocolat Lips (gloss), Coloring Creamy Cheeks (cream blush), and Nail Finish N (polish). I have here three products from the collection to review for you!

The Duo De Chocolat Eyes in EX02 Chocolat Framboise (P1,920) creates a cute and sweet look that can go as dark as you want it. I love using the pink all over my lids as it's a warm color and has super fine sparkles, then I add the dark chocolate shades close to my lashes. This is a quick way to achieve a light smoky look! I sometimes use the dark chocolate as an eyeliner. This stuff sticks on my lids even without a primer since its's so pigmented.

The palette comes in a stiff cardboard packaging strapped in by an elastic. It also comes with a highly usable dual-ended sponge applicator and a mirror for applying on the go. This is my favorite since the colors are so versatile; they play perfectly with each other as well as with other colors!

The Full Glamour Lips in EX05 Creamy Mocha (P1,650) is the star color out of the two limited edition shades. There are six new shades available but two are not permanent; this and EX06 Mauve Cacao. Creamy Mocha is the color of a milk chocolate drink. Smells exactly like one too! The texture is a delight. It's incredibly buttery and seems to melt upon contact on the lips. Suffice it to say that you most definitely don't need a lip balm with this one!

I love the color so much that I feel that it's one of those lippies I'm going to use up until the last swipe.

Finally, I have the Coloring Creamy Cheeks in EX01 Chocolat Beige (P1,925) the main blush and another limited edition color in this line. It comes with a special sponge that's sold separately. I can see why - the sponge is made to work with this blush. It applies the blush well even on a powdered face. I just bounce it over my cheeks and I've got this whole glowy yet natural look going on.

Chocolat Beige is sheer on my coloring. It shows up as a toasty beige on my medium skin, which is really nice, but I imagine it will register better on fairer skin. Still pretty tho!

Here's the look I've made with these products. ^_^ For the eyes, I applied a heavy layer of the chocolate brown shadow on my lids, then topped it with the shimmery pink up to my brow bones. The lips are so gorgeous no? This is such a winning color. I love how the cream blush makes my skin glow and gives just the right amount of color.

And that is that. Check out Lunasol in Rustan's next time you visit! Just remember that aside from swatching the collection, you must also sniff it. ;) Haha! Have a great weekend everyone!

PS How do you guys like the dark color palette? Wanted to veer away from my typical overexposed pictures and try this dim look. I feel it suits the collection.
