Review of Vv and Co.: The new home-grown fragrances by Vern and Verniece Enciso
While many bloggers have released their own makeup lines or collaborations, it’s not often that they venture into scents. It is an especially bold move to do so locally! Vv and Co. is a relatively new brand by local bloggers and real-life sisters Vern and Verniece Enciso. The brand currently offers three perfumes: Vern, Verniece, and Cat, the product of a collaboration with fellow blogger Cat Arambulo-Antonio. The bottles have a premium look and feel, and each scent contains 30ml.
Verniece Eau de Toilette (P999) has notes of jasmine, roses, violets, melon, and orange. To me, this opens with a floral scent but settles into a sweet scent soon after. It has a sophisticated vibe but is still light enough to be used everyday. Being an eau de toilette, it lasts for about three to four hours on me.
Vern Parfum (P1,299) is a powerful perfume that signifies Vern’s go-getting personality. It has notes of freesia petals, jasmine, rose, patchouli, musk, amber, moss, mirabelle, peach, and lemon. I personally find this to be mostly a woodsy perfume with a hint of floral. This is best used as an evening perfume, as I feel that it is intense for a day time perfume. It definitely makes a statement! This stays on me for about seven to eight hours.
The third scent from the line is the Cat Perfume (P2,000). With notes of pomegranate, magnolia, peony, lotus, amber, and mahogany, this scent is similar to one of my favorite scents, the Versace Bright Crystal. This is a fresh, floral and fruity scent that’s invigorating. The staying power for me is about seven to eight hours as well.
These scents have an oily feel to them, as opposed to the more alcohol-y feel of perfumes from big brands. The upside is that the perfumes stay a while longer, but you may feel them sitting on your skin during the day.
My favorite is the Verniece scent, as I feel like it is a versatile scent for a young woman and can go from day to night! This is a great line if you want to upgrade from body mists but are not quite ready to splurge on a designer scent.
