Carla Abellana endorses the new Collagen by Watsons Booster Essence + our first impressions
Watsons is one of PV's go-to drugstores for affordable beauty products as well as other essentials like band-aids and supplements. These past few years, the store has released their own affordable Watsons branded products including the Collagen by Watsons skincare. They recently added the new Collagen Booster Essence (P599/40ml) to their lineup with actress Carla Abellana as the product ambassador.
If you follow Project Vanity on Instagram, you may have seen the IG live of Carla sharing about how the skin needs more than the basic cleanser, toner, and moisturizer as you age. This Collagen Booster Essence is a good addition since collagen is needed for healthy and youthful skin. Its key ingredients are Peptides and Collume®, "a vegan marine bio designed collagen". Together, the two aim to boost skin elasticity and strengthen the skin's moisture barrier.
This can be used on its own as a pre-essence, to be applied after the toner step. As a booster, they recommend adding 1-2 drops to your preferred Collagen by Watsons serum or cream. Carla's preferred option is to mix this with the Hydro Balance Intense Serum followed by the White Regeneration Instant Finishing Cream.
I’ve been trying the Collagen Booster Essence for a couple of days now and it’s a pleasant experience so far. While I’ve yet to see long-term benefits, it has an immediate skin plumping effect that works well on my mid-thirties skin. I’ve noticed some sagging already and the Booster Essence makes my skin look just a tad bit more bouncier even if just for a short while.
Texture-wise, the Essence feels smooth and light. It is easily spreadable - not too thick and not too watery. It also dries down without a tacky feeling. I’m looking forward to applying it together with the other Collagen by Watsons products. Have you tried any from the line?
