It's not wine, it's lip tint - and it's pretty good
Koreans really know how to make us go "ooh". Their latest successful attempt is the Chateau Labiotte Wine Lip Tint (P500 at Mei Satsuki) which is packaged in a cute mini wine bottle that immediately stands out to the eye. It smells like sweet grape juice and tastes a bit bitter, but the wine connection stops there. It's a lip tint that delivers solid pigmentation with a smooth, brilliant finish.
This watery "tint" is a breeze to apply even though it's so opaque. I'm impressed that it sticks even to my upper lips which normally seems to repel these kinds of formulas! If I want a light, ombre tint, one layer will do. If I want full coverage, it only takes two layers. I don't find it drying at all (also impressive for a tint) so I don't need to apply lip balm beforehand. If you have patchy lips though, I recommend letting a balm dry on your lips first before application.
Staying power is pretty good at 3-4 hours if you don't eat. Drinking's fine as the Labiotte tint doesn't transfer at all once it sets. However, it will fade around the lip corners once you eat oily food. There will be a stain but the top opaque layer will kind of dissolve.
On the left photo I am wearing RD01, a deep red, while on the right I have on OR01, a red orange. See how solid the tint goes on - in fact, I hesitate to call it a tint haha. I love how the formula seems to smooth out my lip lines and how brilliant the colors are.
Mei Satsuki also sells a mini version of this, as seen in the header photo above. Love the travel-friendly size and how I can try other shades without comitting to a full tube.
Overall, I find the Chateau Labiotte Wine Lip Tint to be more than the buzz and the cute packaging. It's a great lip product to have in my kit as it's super pigmented, stays a decent amount of time, and is comfortable on the lips. ^_^ I think it may have just sent me on a lip tint craze! It's just so refreshing to not have to worry about my lips moving around or coming off whenever I drink.
