The Shopping Challenge: A 1,000-peso budget FOTD from BeautyMNL
At this point, any Philippine-based kikay lover worth her salt is likely familiar with the beauty haven that is BeautyMNL. While there are no shortage of online sellers and web-based shops to browse from, this particular store is well-loved for its formidable array of authentic luxury, mid-range, and drugstore goods plus beauty services, all in one place! They constantly offer GWPs, promos, and sales, too. They make it easy to score a good beauty deal so to test this theory, I challenged myself to shop for a full face of makeup with just P1,000 as my budget. Here's what I scored!
Budget Beauty: Seven concealers under P500 for your every skin issue
When I first started doing my own makeup, I thought that all good concealers were expensive and far beyond the means of my student budget. Even now, I have to content myself with reading about the NARS Radiant Creamy concealer, MAC Pro Longwear concealer, YSL Touché Eclat Radiance pen concealer, and the Tarte Double Duty Shape Tape concealer. I'm sure those are all amazing and I'd love to add them to my collection someday, but right now, my needs require me to use concealer almost all the time and it would be impractical for me to splurge on something I use every day.
Budget Beauty: New drops from SanSan Cosmetics, all at P170 and under
Is it just me or is digging for affordable makeup gems the official sport of the Project Vanity staff? We've featured quite a good bit of Budget Beauty stories here, and sharing drugstore finds is also a hot topic in the Project Vanity Facebook Community over on Facebook! So we decided to look into one of the brands that Pinay beauty bargain lovers often gush about: SanSan Cosmetics.
My last haul for a P1,000 look proved to be a trove of neat finds, so it’s only fitting to check out other products from this budget-friendly local brand. Here’s a review of six things I got to try this time around!
Budget Beauty: Three cleansing balms you can score for under P900
Until recently, I have only used micellar water as my makeup remover. It worked for me, so I never thought to try any other types. When I finally got to try a cleansing balm though, I became an instant convert! I loved how easily it removed the makeup from my face, without needing to make several passes with a cotton pad.
