BB Cream Week: Revlon Photoready BB Cream

I realized, belatedly, that the BB creams I lined up for you this week are all from Western brands. I wasn't able to acquire Asian BBs for this round, but never fear! I promise to have an Asian BB cream week next time. ;)

Allow me to discuss one last product to wrap up this themed week: the Revlon Photoready BB Cream (P725)!

I like that it has a brightening finish even though the coverage is quite sheer. The SPF30 is a good addition too! I also like that it didn't slide off after four hours of wear, even though others who have tried it say that the staying power is dismal. Remember people: setting it properly is key!

I found a great shade match in Light Medium. The shade is yellow-toned with subtle shimmer for that skin-illuminating effect.

Swatch of the Revlon Photoready BB Cream in Light Medium. It's a bit mousse-y out of the tube, but it gets a watery texture once it's being blended onto the skin.

The texture is creamy and a tad heavy but once you spread it around it gets this smooth, watery texture. It hydrates my skin without making it overly oily. I won't recommend this if you have very oily skin though! It's simply not formulated to be long-wearing. Actually, come to think of it, I haven't tried many BB creams that are long-wearing. I'd recommend a full-on liquid foundation if you want something that sticks all day.

This was my face yesterday. I applied all this makeup in 15 minutes, ha! It took me only 30 minutes to get ready as I was in a mad rush to leave the house. :P I like how the whole thing turned out though. I was surprised by how photogenic this Revlon BB Cream looks now that I've seen the photos on my computer.

Hmm, what don't I like? This is too sheer for my taste tbqh. It's closer to being tinted moisturizer than being a BB cream. It has no skin-enriching ingredients. It's just colored sunscreen, really! That's not a bad thing since it looks pretty good, but yeah if you're looking for a true BB cream this isn't the one.

So there you have it. Try the Revlon Photoready BB Cream if you have good skin and require only minimal coverage. It brightens the face instantly while keeping it from drying out at the same time! It's best for those with dry to combination skin who are looking for a prettifying sunscreen. :)

What do you think? Is this the BB cream for you?
