Fun new colors: the Eye of Horus Goddess Pencils

I wonder if you've noticed that I've stopped wearing colored contact lenses lately. Maybe it makes no difference to you, but I struggled with that decision for a while. I felt like colored lenses made me look prettier and more interesting; I mean, how addicting is that feeling? I couldn't let go - didn't want to let go. But I did after three years of constantly wearing them.

It was mainly because I started to feel ridiculous putting on fake colored pieces of plastic eyes. They're photogenic, however in person they tend to look rather eerie. I also didn't look like myself. That was fun before but, well, not anymore. Maybe I've just evolved a better sense of self? Changed priorities? I'm not going to preach though. Wear whatever makes you feel nice.

Anyway. On a totally unrelated note, check out my new Eye of Horus Goddess Pencils (P990) which Glamourbox gave me a while back. I've reviewed EoH liners a couple of times so all you need to know at this point is that they are mostly awesome. I just really want to show you the new colors I have and a fun look that I had on yesterday!

On the left is Jewel Amethyst (a bright purple with golden duochrome shimmer), Lazuli Blue (silvery blue), and Emerald Tabula (matte ivy green, at least, to me). All shades are buttery, pigmented, and long-wearing - they smudge minimally on me as long as I allow them to set properly.

What does that mean? Well, the Amethyst and Emerald are particularly staining and they transfer to my upper lids if I open my eyes immediately after application. It kinda annoying, but I just make sure to give the liners a few seconds to dry and set to avoid this.

Here's my FOTD wearing Emerald!

It works extremely well with a purple pink lip no? Keeping the bright colors on only two areas of my face makes the look fresh and modern. ^_^  This is one of my "auto" makeup techniques when I'm pressed for time. It's interesting but it only takes a few minutes! Try it out one time.
