Andrea Brillantes launches Blythe Cosmetics with Careline (swatches inside!)
There’s better than basic, and then there’s outta this world! When Ever Bilena first introduced the revamped Careline collection dubbed as the “Careline Girl Gang” with Andrea Brillantes two years ago, we were wowed by how the company embraced a trendier, edgier look for their teen-centric line. “Pa-tweetums” is now a thing of the past, and the brand did not shy away from bold eye makeup, blingy highlighter, and metallic/non-traditional lip colors.
Fast forward to 2019 and the launch of celebrity beauty brands with Kris Aquino and Ara Mina, Ever Bilena through Careline is once again reshaping the local teen beauty market. They’ve collaborated with the 16-year-old star on her very own makeup line: Blythe Cosmetics. The brand name is inspired by Andrea’s second name and online handle, to give the collection a personal touch. The mix of sweet and bold colors were chosen by Andrea who wanted products that would be usable for everyday but also have options for a fun night out. And because the Kadenang Ginto star loves aliens and all things out-of-this-world, a galaxy theme inspired the colors, shade names, and packaging design.
Blythe went big on lip colors by offering 8 shades in 2 finishes. The Majestic Matte Lipsticks (P165 each) are composed of highly pigmented, intense shades in Cosmos (royal blue), Vixen (smoky purple), Phoenix (reddish pink), and Kelvin (orangey caramel brown).
The Stellar Satin Lips (P165 each) have a satiny sheen and a buttery glide in the shades Juliet (nude pink), Phoebe (milky peach), Titania (pinkish brown), and Calypso (rosy plum pink).
For easy-does-it lids, the Starlight Eyes (P195) liquid shadows bring the shine and sparkle in Lynx (coppery gold), Cassiopeia (metallic light warm pink), and Pegasus (medium bronze). The brand also offers Eyeliner Duo Stamps (P185) that are dual-ended, transfer-proof, and waterproof liquid liners in the shades Black Magic (black with teardrop-shaped stamp) and Falling Star (dark brown with star-shaped stamp).
Multipurpose products are practical as well as cost-effective, and Blythe offers several options for their teenage audience. The Perfect Brow Trio (P265) is a slim pen that houses a twist-up brow pencil, brow powder, and browcara in Comet (light brown), Graphite (gray), and Meteor (dark brown).
The Face Palette (P245) is a one-look compact that contains an eyeshadow quad and a multitasking tint in Eclipse (vibrant earth tones with a maroon tint) and Twilight (cool neutrals with a bright strawberry red tint).
The Cloud Tints (P195) can also be used for eyes, cheeks, and lips. Color options include Veil (warm red-pink), Haze (medium salmon), Mist (medium red), Cosmic (hot pink), Cloak (berry reddish pink), and Nebula (reddish bright coral).
Finally, the Stardust Palette (P275) is a trio of spectacular-looking highlighters in pale icy blue, warm champagne gold, and a pale rose gold.
Asked about what her favorite pieces are in the collection, Andrea shared that she often uses the Cloud Tints during tapings because of their versatility and high pigmentation. She also loves the Stellar Satin Lips in Calypso as it is nearly the same color as her lips and works as an excellent MLBB.
