Beauty Roundup: Lisa Eldridge Pinpoint Concealer, New Hourglass Foundation with SPF30, MAC Nudes Collection, and New Colourette Easy Mattes

How do you find 2025 so far? Are you feeling the urge to step up and do better this year, like me? This week’s roundup of beauty news shows that beauty brands just might be feeling the same! We bring you a BNR full of innovation, as Lisa Eldridge comes out with her first concealer product: the Pinpoint Concealer Pencil. Hourglass recently released its first foundation with sun protection, the Illusion Luminous Glow Foundation SPF30. MAC Nudes Collection is finally out, with both new and fan-fave nude shades in different formats and formulas. Local beauty brand Colourette recently launched their new and improved Easy Mattes, with new shades to love.

Lisa Eldridge Pinpoint Concealer Micro Correcting Pencil

Lisa Eldridge introduces the Pinpoint® Concealer Micro Correcting Pencil ($34) as the “Swiss Army Knife” of concealers. The creamy gel formula is self-setting, waterproof, and long-wearing. What sets it apart? It comes in a twist-up mechanical pen with built-in sharpener, sporting a 1.5 mm tip for extreme precision.

Lisa Eldridge excitedly shares in the product launch video how her pinpoint concealing technique was born out of her personal need to spot-conceal acne marks back in the day. She proudly shares,“My Pinpoint® Concealer will allow absolutely everyone to experience the confidence-boosting benefits of the most asked-about makeup technique of my career.” It makes so much sense for her to launch a product tied to her trademark move!

It comes in sixteen (16) shades to suit a range of skin tones and undertones. Each concealer shade has a recommended shade match to her Seamless Skin Foundation and Enhancing Tint. The Lisa Eldridge Pinpoint Concealer Micro Correcting Pencil is now available at lisaeldridge.com.

Hourglass Illusion Luminous Glow Foundation SPF 30

Hourglass adds another skin-caring foundation to its makeup roster, this time with sun protection. Meet the Hourglass Illusion Luminous Glow Foundation SPF 30 ($58), a base product that combines the benefits of a broad-spectrum SPF 30 sunscreen and advanced skincare ingredients with a long-wearing glowy foundation.

To be honest, I was a bit surprised when I discovered how much it is retailing for–it’s the most expensive Hourglass foundation so far. But then again, if you consider how it has broad spectrum SPF 30, skin-caring and anti-aging ingredients, buildable medium coverage, and 12-hour makeup wear, it can replace three beauty products?? Yes, that’s girl logic that may or may not make sense, LOL.

It is available in a range of skin tones and undertones with a total of twenty-six (26) shades. These include Very Fair, Fair, Light, Light Medium, Medium, Medium Deep, Tan, Deep, and Very Deep skin tones, with Cool, Neutral, Warm, Peach, Golden, and Rosy undertones (not all skin tones have the complete set of undertones). The new Hourglass foundation is now available at the Hourglass website. Hoping it drops in Sephora.ph soon!

MAC Nudes Collection

MAC has been teasing its upcoming Nudes Collection since December last year, and now it’s finally, officially here! We finally have the complete lineup: a total of twenty-eight (28) new and fan-favorite nudes comprise the curated collection, including the Lustreglass Sheer-Shine Lipstick, M·A·Cximal Sleek Satin Lipstick, Powder Kiss Liquid Lipcolour, Lip Pencil, and Connect In Colour Eye Shadow Palette in Nude Board.

There are three (3) Lusterglass Sheer-Shine Lipstick (P1,500) shades in the collection: Alone Time (mauve brown), Signature Movie (greige), and Uncensored (cool dark brown). This is a great choice if you’re looking for sheer color with shine, but if you’re looking for a full-coverage satin finish, you can’t go wrong with the MACXIMAL Sleek Satin Lipstick (P1,350). There are four (4) shades in the Nudes Collection: Hodge-Podge (mocha midtone brown), Peachstock (warm light medium peach), Stone (muted greyish taupe brown), and Fleshpot (warm light beige).

There are also a couple of matte formulas in the mix. There are a total of six (6) MACXIMAL Silky Matte Lipstick (P1,350) shades: Acting Natural (warm light nude beige), Folio (greyish nude), Iconic Photo (golden brown), Bare M-A-CXIMAL (deep rich chocolate brown), Yash (ultra light neutral), and Cool Teddy (cool deep beige). If liquid matte lippies are your jam, there are six (6) shades of Powder Kiss Liquid Lipcolour (P1,750), as well: Buffiest (midtone nude pink), Chestnut (deep warm brown), Habit (peachy nude), It’s Personal (warm light beige nude), Rekindled (deep cool brown), and Taken (warm light brown).

Make it an honest-to-goodness modern nude lippie look with a lip combo! The three (3) Lip Pencil (P1,450) shades are Chestnut (intense brown), Stripdown (creamy brown beige), and Cool Spice (deep brown mauve).

The lone eye product in the collection, Connect In Color Eyeshadow Palette: Nude Board has six (6) curated shades that would pair well with the lippies in the Nudes Collection: In Confidence, Second Nature, Love Over Gold, Naked Eye, Blink Twice, and Heartstrings.

MAC Cosmetics’s Nudes Collection is now available in the US. Join me in praying it lands on our shores very soon!

New & Improved Colourette Easy Mattes

Colourette lippie fans, rejoice! You go-to lipstick, the Colourette Easy Matte Everyday Lipstick (P399) is back, and it’s better than ever. It now has a “Fleximatte Formula” that gives vibrant, pigmented color with comfortable all-day wear. Peptides, Hyaluronic Acid, and Meadowfoam Seed Oil keep your lips nourished, hydrated, and plump, too.

What else is new? It has been upgraded for that luxe feel with the stamped Colourette logo, sporting a magnetic bullet case. There are also four (4) new shade additions to the lineup.

Meet the new Easy Matte shades: Gossip (true mauve), Lover (scarlet red), Sexy Time (classic brick), and Girlypop (gumamela pink). Don’t fret; the shades you fell in love with are here, too: Cool Down (rosy brown), Rest Day (bare rose), Felt Cute (warm salmon), 9 to 5 (toasty peach), and Wine Down (deep sangria).

And that’s it for this week’s BNR. To be honest, I’m moved to better myself even more this year, just like how the beauty brands in this edition are steppin up their game. I hope it inspires you, too! See you on the next one!
