Beauty Roundup: CKIN Collective, Five Beauty All-Around Cheek Brush, Blk Airy Corrector, and Happy Skin Jelly Blush
Once again, an all-local beauty news roundup is upon us this week! Let’s find out what our homegrown movers and shakers have been up to. Influencer Camille Co-Koro has launched her very own skin care line called CKIN Collective. Five Beauty recently released their All-Around Cheek Brush, the perfect companion for their Hybrid Colour Stick. Blk Cosmetics has added to their Life-proof line three new Airy Corrector shades. Finally, let’s talk about what’s been making the rounds on Tiktok as a controversial new release: the Happy Skin Jelly Blush.
Introducing CKIN Collective
The always fashionable Camille Co-Koro introduced CKIN Collective officially on October 16th, 2024, amidst a gathering of celebrity friends, influencers, and media. She shared that battling with adult acne moved her to create her own skin care line to help others going through the same issue. CKIN (pronounced “skin” but spelled with a C) Collective products were developed with a “Skinfulness” mindset, which means a balanced, holistic approach to skin care. This includes a gentle, skin-caring routine, and considers other factors like nutrition, rest, and pollution.
CKIN Collective is now available on ckincollective.com! The gentle lineup for acne-prone skin has three components: The Skinfulness Gel Cleanser (P690, 120mL), a purifying and calming facial gel cleanser; The Skinfulness Toner Essence (P880, 120mL), a toning essence that renews and soothes; and The Skinfulness Hydrator (P1,190, 50mL), a repairing and balancing moisturizer. The 3-piece lineup is also available as a set, The Skinfulness Daily Self-Care Kit (P2,480).
Five Beauty All-around Cheek Blush
Who else has tried and fell in love with the Five Beauty Hybrid Colour Stick here aside from me? You probably wish there was a blending tool that came with the ultra-pigmented multi-use stick. Seems like the brand listened, and recently released an All-around Cheek Brush (P399).
Intentionally designed to work with their flagship product, the Five Beauty All-around Cheek Brush has an angled, slightly domed brush head to mimic the natural movement of blending with fingers. The short handle and compact body makes controlled application easy, and travel-friendly.
Five Beauty has also made holiday gifting easy with their new sets! Get a Hybrid Colour Stick & All-Around Cheek Brush Set for P549 instead of P1,098 or a Hybrid Colour Stick Duo & All-Around Cheek Brush Set for P849 instead of P1,797. Score awesome deals on the Five Beauty website before they run out of stock!
Blk Cosmetics Life-Proof Airy Corrector
Finally, Blk Cosmetics has added color correctors to their Life-Proof Airy Concealer lineup! The original Life-Proof Airy Concealers (P399) had a total of six (6) skintone-matching shades. Three (3) new color-correcting shades now join their ranks.
The Life-proof Airy Corrector (P399) is available in three shades: Green, Light Peach, and Medium Peach. Green corrects redness on the face, including any inflammations, rashes, acne, and rosacea. Peach tones, on the other hand, brighten and correct darkness commonly found under the eyes and around the lips, and any other dark spots or blemishes. Applied sparingly under foundation and/or concealer, you will surely ace your base! As of writing, the Blk Cosmetics Life-proof Airy Corrector is available exclusively online at Shopee and on the brand’s official website.
Happy Skin Jelly Blush
Homegrown brand Happy Skin has launched the Jelly Blush (P599), a multi-use stick that imparts a “fresh-from-a-run natural flush.” Like the rest of Happy Skin’s products, it has skin-caring ingredients like hydrating Hyaluronic Acid, brightening Niacinamide, and soothing Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice. It also has a cooling effect when applied.
It comes in four (4) fruit-inspired shades: Pomelo (pink), Peaches (coral), Grape (plum), and Raspberry (red). Initial reviews report that it has buildable color that doesn’t budge–and that exactly is what everyone has been talking about on Tiktok! So much so that it prompted Liz to share her own thoughts even when she was out of the country.Find out what she thinks about this controversial jelly blush on Tiktok and Instagram!
And that’s it for this week’s Beauty News Roundup! I just love me an all-local BNR. It shows how active the beauty community has become in our country, moving local beauty brands to shift and grow as well. Which juicy little tidbit has caught your attention? See you on the next one!
