The Becca x Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette is totally worth the splurge
It was love at first sight. I didn't think it could still happen to a jaded beauty editor like me, but there it was! The Becca x Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette (P2,615 at Sephora PH) is a beautiful rose gold compact with equally gorgeous colors inside. At first I thought that it contained only shimmery things, but I was surprised that it can in fact add natural-looking blush and a bronze glow with minimal sheen.
All powders have an incredibly smooth texture and blend on skin like a dream. They are finely milled so forget about seeing flecks of shimmer flying everywhere; you won't see them loosely clinging to your brush or your skin! Staying power is pretty good too, at five to six hours on my combination skin depending on how hot it is.
There are four shades inside, two of which are highlighters. All shades are warm, and would go well with all skin tones.
- The Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Beach Nectar is an apricot with gold shimmer. It reflects a bit peachy on my skin, but it's subtle.
- The Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Rose Gold is a subtle gold with a rosy tone.
- The Sunlit Bronzer in Malibu Soleil is a warm amber that looks great as a bronzer shade on me. It has a bit of a satin finish, but can contour in a pinch since it doesn't veer too orange or tan. Still best to use a separate contour powder though.
- The Luminous Blush in Hibiscus Bloom is a new shade, described as a golden pink coral. Love how this looks against my skin!
All shades look amazing, and there is no better way to prove it than to show them here in full force:
Right??? I always get compliments when I have the Becca x Chrissty Teigen palette on! It makes skin look naturally glowy, fresh, and effortless. It wears well during the day as the pigments adhere nicely to the skin. You do have to sort of coax them to come alive, which is why I recommend my technique of buffing these powders with a fluffy brush. Just briskly run the brush back and forth on your skin until the colors render the way they should. So yes, there is a bit of a learning curve.
I think it's sulit for the price. The highlighters are 5.1 grams each, while the blush and bronzer are at 2.4 grams each. You get a total of 15 grams in the palette, which will probably take forever to finish.
Overall, I highly, highly recommend the Becca x Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette if you're looking for a one-stop palette that looks amazing on skin. This should work for all skin tones, even for oily skin since the staying power is pretty good. You might need to retouch mid-day though the oilier you are.
Becca does it again! Who needs good lighting, really, when you've got this piece of art in your makeup kit? What do you think of this palette?
