The blk Bridal Collection: Anne Curtis reshares her best-selling wedding lippies + her new palette
I first fell for Anne Curtis’ Wedding Lipsticks back in 2017 when it was first released. I promptly went out and bought a set because the whole concept was so timely for me; I also got married that same year. While I didn’t wear the lipsticks for my own bridal look, I recall enjoying Anne’s lipstick shades in Mon Amour and I Do on a daily basis.
Fast forward to 2020 and blk cosmetics has launched a limited edition Bridal Collection based off the two lipsticks. There are two color stories packaged in lovely box sets with even more gorgeous photos of Anne on her wedding day. The first is the Bridal Book Set in I Do (P1,536/set) that “lets you flaunt that romantic, natural look with soft pinks, delicate shimmers, and rosy hues.” The second set, and the one I’m reviewing for this article, is the Bridal Book Set in Mon Amour (P1,536/set) which is “a classic glam wedding look with elegant neutrals, subtle iridescence, and a rosy red lip.”
The blk cosmetics Bridal Eyeshadow Palette - Nude (P449) comes in the brand’s signature clear acrylic packaging. The overall effect is tres chic, and it lets the eyeshadows take center stage. The four shades from top left, clockwise are Champagne, Natural Beauty, Veil, and Pearl. The bottom shades (Pearl and Veil) are matte while the top shades (Champagne and Natural Beauty) are seemingly cream-to-powder formulations that give off a shimmery finish.

All four shades are pigmented and easy to blend whether you use a brush or just your fingers. But while I liked the look I came up with using the entire palette, I find that the colors have the tendency to blend into each other a little too well. I also would have preferred a slightly darker contrast color to line the eyes in lieu of an eyeliner. Overall though, the whole palette still performs well and takes out the guesswork in curating your shades. A bonus for the matte shades – I swirled Pearl and Veil together to use as blush! This means that I can use just this one palette for a basic, everyday look.
Now on to the rest of the set: there’s a mini highlighter in Bridal Creamy All-Over Paint in Glow (P329) plus two lip products. Glow is a lovely wash of pink shimmer that looks natural on my medium skin tone. I like using it on the cheekbones, cupid’s bow, brow bone, and on top of the eyeshadows from the palette. On a lazy day, I use it alone all over the lids.

The literal star of the show is the Bridal All-Day Intense Matte Lipstick in Mon Amour (P379) which is one of Anne’s original Wedding Lipstick shades. The “rosy red” hue provides the flush of color in the entire Mon Amour Bridal Book Set. It picks up the color story of the Nude Eyeshadow Palette while providing a focal point. Adding the Bridal Sparkle Gloss in Lace (P379) on top tones down the lipstick while making your lips look healthy because of the added shine. I actually like wearing this on its own because I’ve been more into nude shades lately. But you can see the effect of the two products when layered in the makeup look below. One thing to watch out for, though but it could just be me, is the scent of this gloss which comes off a bit plasticky. It goes away after application but if you’re sensitive to scents, then this might not be for you. But this is the first time I’ve tried blk’s gloss though so I can’t really compare with their other glosses. I still like using the gloss though for the color.
The blk cosmetics’ Bridal Book Set in Mon Amour wins a page in my local makeup to love book. The color story is classic bridal that easily transitions to daily looks. All products can be mixed and matched too, plus blk cosmetics’ formula is pretty reliable! If you’re a bride-to-be and you want to do your makeup yourself, this can be a good set to use. Just add a solid base routine, waterproof liner and mascara, then you can be good to go.
