blk Soft Blur Blushes: Quick Swatches and Review

Blk has been delivering uncomplicated beauty for seven years now, and we here at Project Vanity have been loving them since their launch, and have been reviewing blk products ever since. On their 7th birthday milestone they’ve prepared the sweetest treat for us in the form of their Soft Blur Powder Blush (P399/4g), each shade deliciously named after a delectable dessert.

Team blk with co-founder Anne Curtis-Smith celebrate the brand’s 7th birthday milestone.

The party’s sweet spread consisted of the treats each blush is named after.

A birthday isn’t a birthday without a cake! Party guests were able to decorate their own mini lunchbox cakes from Aegyo Cakes.

The Soft Blur Blush collection comes in ten irresistible shades, featuring eight stunning blushes, a contour and a bronzer. The collection is perfectly formulated to give that soft blur, packed with optical blurring pigments and primer infused powder. This works to minimize the look of pores while softening texture all without that annoying caking. The powder is silky and buildable and with the infused primer gives you up to 12 hours of wear.

Blk has also crafted the Kabuki Cheek Brush (P349), an ultra fluffy retractable brush perfect for popping into your everyday makeup kit. The brush is built with extra-soft bristles and an angled head designed to diffuse product, the perfect brush to use for that flawless, soft-blurred finish. And when you’re done, retract the brush and cover with the hygienic cap for a no mess cleanup.

Blush Swatches and Wear Test

These are buildable, diffusible pigments so that you can never make the mistake of putting on way too much blush. Instead, you have the ability to control and gently place your blush to accentuate your look. Swatching on skin, you can really feel the soft silky formula and the soft blur effect is almost immediate on application. If you’re cool toned, you should definitely try the shades Funfetti, Macaron, Souffle, and Jam and if you’re warm toned try Bonbon, Croffle, Shortcake, and Taffy. Now because I have a more golden tone, I prefer more brick and plum shades but the pink blushes in this collection do make me wish I could wear lighter pinks.

For this look I used Truffle as a contour to add dimension to the face as well as a combination of Croffle and Jam for blush. Soft blur doesn’t mean no pigment when it comes to these blushes!

And like with all blk products, these blushes are 100% vegan, cruelty-free and made using only ethically-sourced ingredients. You can rest assured knowing these blushes are also free of harmful ingredients: parabens, phthalates, SLEs, mineral oil, dyes, alcohol, artificial silicone, and artificial fragrances.
