It's been a while since I last reviewed Cathy Doll products for Project Vanity, so I’m excited to dive into their latest releases from the recent "What A Doll Day!" event. The Thai beauty brand offers a range of products, including base makeup, lip essentials, and even a brow mascara, making it easy to mix and match to create your perfect makeup kit.

Let's start with their new base products! Cathy Doll just launched a CC Cream Series with three variants: Speed White, Speed Cover, and Anti Acne. To help you decide which one suits your needs, here's a handy chart that breaks down how each performs in terms of brightness, oil control, and coverage.

The Cathy Doll CC Cream Speed Cover SPF50 PA+++ (P539) is all about providing flawless coverage while keeping the skin hydrated—thanks to its formula infused with 8 types of Hyaluronic Acid. As someone with dry skin and occasional redness, this was a perfect match for me. I picked up the shade #2 Medium Beige, which seemed a bit light at first when I swatched it on my arm. However, it eventually adjusted to my skin tone, leaving me with a bright, even complexion and no traces of redness. I didn’t feel the need to set it with powder, but if you have oily skin or prefer to set your makeup, there's a matching powder pact available that you can pair with it.

The Cathy Doll Speed Cover Powder SPF40 PA+++ (P494) shares the same focus on coverage, as highlighted in their comparison chart. I have it in the shade #03 Honey Beige, and based on its pigmentation, it feels almost like a powder foundation. It delivers a similar skin tone-evening effect to the CC Cream, but I did notice that the coverage is a bit lighter in comparison. If you prefer something that evens out your complexion without feeling too heavy, this might be a great option for you!

Another exciting new base collection from Cathy Doll is their Vit C Ampoule line, which includes a foundation, powder, and concealer. As the name suggests, these products are designed to brighten the skin, thanks to the infusion of Vitamin C. The range comes in four shades, but only 02 Light Beige and 03 Medium Beige are available here in the Philippines.

The Cathy Doll Vit C Ampoule Foundation SPF50+ PA+++ (P701) is a sunscreen foundation that's suitable for all skin types. It promises a radiant, even finish while resisting water, oil, and sweat, which makes it perfect for those who commute or need long-lasting coverage. For those looking for more coverage, you can either build it up with an extra layer or pair it with the Cathy Doll Vit C Ampoule Concealer (P431). Both products perform well, but I found that the shade 03 Medium Beige in both the foundation and concealer was a bit too yellow for my skin tone.

Powder products like the Cathy Doll Vit C Ampoule Powder Pact SPF50 PA+++ (P701) are typically better suited for oil control, and this one is no exception. The Powder Pact features ultra-fine particles that, when applied, promise not to cake or crease, while resisting water, oil, and sweat. I tried it in the 03 Medium Beige shade, and unlike the other Vit C products, this one wasn’t as yellow. It provided a bright, natural-looking base with minimal coverage, though you can easily build it up by applying more to areas that need it. Perfect for those looking for a light, breathable powder that helps control shine!

Now, onto my favorite—lip products! I was excited to try the Cathy Doll Vit C Water Tint (P179) and the Cathy Doll CC Lip Serum (P359). The Water Tint is super lightweight and leaves a nice stain on my lips. I got the shade 06 Raspberry, which gives a lovely red tint. You can apply it starting from the inner lips and blend outward for a gradient effect, or go for an all-over application. Personally, I prefer applying it all over since I find creating a good gradient a bit tricky these days. Maybe I just need more practice since I don’t usually do gradient lips anymore!

The Cathy Doll CC Lip Serum uses color-adjusting pigment to give you pinkish lips, with each variant or flavor targeting different tones based on the color wheel. I tried the Grape variant, which starts out as a light violet but quickly turns pink, even while swatching on my skin. On my lips, just a small amount is enough to achieve a natural pink tint. If you apply too much, the color shifts to a much brighter pink, so it's best to use it sparingly. The final shade can also vary depending on your natural lip color, which makes it feel a bit more personalized to your unique tone.

The final touch for a doll-like look is the Cathy Doll Get Set Go Browcara (P278). I tried it in the shade 04 Charcoal Brown, which has a nice neutral tone. However, I’ve found that it's important to scrape off any excess product before applying, as it can easily end up looking too dark on my brows if I’m not careful. The 45-degree angled brush is great for precise application, allowing you to really shape your brows, but the brush is quite slim, so I do feel like I need to handle it delicately to avoid accidentally breaking it.

Now that’s a Doll Day! The items I tried are really nice and I think a lot of users will find them reasonably priced, especially if you find a good shade match with their bases.
