Flawless Brows Gadget Review: How and if it actually works
I’m sure you’ve seen the ads following you all over the Internet, so let me satisfy your curiosity a bit. I bought the Flawless Brows Eyebrow Trimmer (P999 for two at Glitzy Chic) a couple weeks ago online because I was dying to know if it worked. My quarantine brows have of course realized a life of their own so I needed a quick fix, quicker than my trusty tweezers. Now the good news is yes, the Flawless Brows gadget does work, although perhaps not in the way most people would think.
First things first: this is not an epilator, which pulls hair from the root. This is actually a conveniently packaged razor that clips the hair as you pass over it. That means that there’s zero pain as the rotating razor (kind of like a blender) is inside the metal tip; the hair that gets inside the metal slats basically gets ground down into black dust. Gross? Yes. Although I admit it’s kinda cool to see powdered hair when you open up the tip for cleaning (that’s why there’s a white brush in the box with it)!
Anyway, this is easy enough to use although there is a bit of a learning curve in the beginning. My advice is to press the metal tip to your skin so that it catches the hair; you will also need to clean up big areas where there’s hair growth around and between the brows. If you need to shape the brows though by removing specific bits of hair, you will be better off with a tweezer or a pair of tiny scissors.
Since Flawless Brows is not an epilator, expect that the hair will grow back fast since you’re really only cutting it at skin level, not at the roots. Will your hair grow back thicker? It might feel thick since you’re cutting from a thicker part of the hair shaft but it is the same hair you’ve always had. So, no.
Let me summarize my thoughts.
Why I like the Flawless Brows Eyebrow Trimmer:
It works faster than tweezing in removing brow hair in larger area sizes.
It’s painless, unlike waxing or threading. I personally don’t like using naked razors near my eyes too.
The size of the gadget is just about as big as a mascara, so it’s a convenient quick fix.
The packaging is nice and sleek.
It comes with a tough cleaning brush for the razor.
There are super clear instructions in the single page manual inside.
What I don’t like about it:
There are no batteries included. Bummer. In case you’re wondering, you detach the product from the middle to stick the single triple A battery in.
You can only buy two, there’s no option for a single box on Glitzy Chic. I don’t really need two boxes of this, but I suppose others can find someone to split it with.
While the packaging looks pretty, it’s not the most sturdy plastic out there.
It can’t create a finer shape since the tip is still too bulky for detail work.
There’s a light at the tip when it’s on, but it’s very weak.
So who is this for?
People who don’t like tweezing, shaving, waxing, or threading fine facial hair. I also use this for my femstache - so convenient!
Those who need to quickly clean up the hair growth. It’s still best to pull hair from the roots but if there’s no time, then shaving with Flawless Brows is convenient.
I hope this review helps you decide! Let me know if you’ve tried this, and what you think of it.
