Lip Swatch Time! The Return of Happy Skin Lip Mallows with New Shades

Happy Skin's lip product collections often see their shade ranges expand or make a triumphant return due to popular demand. A perfect example of this is the Lip Mallow Plush Matte Lip Mousse and the Lip Mallow Plush Matte Lip Tint, both of which are among the brand's best-sellers. These products belong to the beloved Lip Mallow collection, which has impressively sold over 600,000 units! This achievement not only highlights their quality and appeal but also underscores Happy Skin's commitment to listening to their customers and continually evolving to meet their requests.
The Happy Skin Lip Mallow Plush Matte Lip Mousse (P599/3ml) is a staple for long-time Project Vanity readers. Liz reviewed it when it first came out, and I had the pleasure of trying out the coffee-themed release. Now, Happy Skin has reintroduced it with five shades, including Honeymoon Glow (pink rose) from the original lineup, and Cinnamon (rosy brown), Chai Latte (mauve brown), Fresh Brew (milky brown), and Iced Coffee (warm brown) from the coffee edition. Just opening the product releases a strong coffee scent, which can smell a tad artificial at times. Personally, I'm okay with it, but it's worth noting for those who are sensitive to scents.
Using the Lip Mousse always gives me a delightful sense of nostalgia. I remember how incredibly popular they were when they first launched, and it's easy to see why people keep coming back for them. The formula has that signature whipped-mousse texture that dries down into a lightweight, powdery matte finish, which feels incredibly comfortable on the lips. It’s like a soft, airy hug for your lips, providing a beautiful matte look without the heavy, drying sensation some other products can have.
One of the things I appreciate most is how effortlessly it glides on, making application a breeze even for those rushed mornings. However, it doesn't blur out lip lines, so if you're looking for a super smooth finish, you might need to pair it with a good lip primer. Also, be prepared for a touch-up after meals or drinks, as the formula isn't entirely transfer-proof. Despite this, the reapplication is so easy and quick that it's hardly a bother.

Compared to the Lip Mousse, the Happy Skin Lip Mallow Plush Matte Lip Tint (P599/4.5ml) is all about longevity, boasting a 12-hour stain that was especially popular during the mandatory mask-wearing years. This was also reviewed by Liz, and since its initial release, Happy Skin has expanded the shade range significantly. Now, there are 18 shades in total, with five newly added hues.

The new additions include Eclair (pink brown) and Hazelnut (mocha brown), which add depth to the brown spectrum, while Soufflé (mellow pink), Macaron (natural nude), and Bonbon (mauve pink) enhance the pink lineup. This expanded palette offers a variety of lighter, trendier shades that keep the collection fresh and versatile. The formula remains the same beloved one, providing that long-lasting wear we all appreciate.
I especially enjoy Bonbon, Éclair, and Soufflé on their own for their flattering and wearable tones. Macaron, on the other hand, serves as an excellent base, allowing for creative layering and blending.

Whichever Lip Mallow you choose, you'll benefit from SPF15, which is a big plus for me since it's easy to forget about sun protection for our lips. Both formulas are fantastic in their own right, but if I had to pick a favorite, I'd lean towards the Plush Matte Tints. The expanding shade selection offers so many options, and you just can't beat the longevity and enduring stain they provide. The combination of vibrant, trendy shades and long-lasting wear makes them a standout choice, especially for those busy days when you need your lip color to stay put.
