A Milestone for Filipino Beauty: Happy 10 Years, Happy Skin!

When a homegrown beauty brand celebrates an anniversary, it is a shared milestone for Filipino Beauty. It means that our local beauty scene is thriving! I have been writing about beauty for more than ten years now and to witness Happy Skin’s 10th Birthday makes me both proud and reminiscent of how much our local landscape has changed. I remember the first article I wrote on Happy Skin for Project Vanity. It was a grand tour of their then newly-opened Trinoma store. Now, they have grown to more than a 100 doors and over 250 employees plus an online presence with worldwide shipping!

I once got to interview Heart Evangelista for her second Happy Skin x Love Marie collection and I must say, the collections with Heart were definite favorites in my Happy Skin stash. Happy Skin has plenty of notable collaborations (Disney, Glam Squad, to name a few) and their latest collab, Happy Skin x Marj Maroket brushes, that Liz reviewed continue to earn good impressions online.

Remember the iconic Shut Up and Kiss Me Moisturizing Matte Lippies that made the brand a household name? Happy Skin is finally bringing back this beloved lip product! Though the shade selection is limited, they chose three iconic ones: Under the Sheets (warm brown), The Morning After (Old Rose), and It Girl (Carnation Pink). Net-Zero Plastic Beauty Brand

This environmentally-friendly goal is made in partnership with Plastic Credit Exchange (PCX) for sustainability. How does this work? "PCX will collect every plastic that Happy Skin generates throughout its activities so that it can be recycled, upcycled, and co-processed." We’d love to know more about this initiative and are looking forward to hearing more about this in the future.
