The Latest Pre-Serum Innovation from Japan: Meet the Kanebo Fusion-ing Solution

Photography by Perkin Gotohio

Innovation has always been at the heart of Kanebo, solidifying its status as a major player in the beauty industry. They consistently introduce new skincare and makeup products a few times year, each backed by extensive research and development. A standout from their recent releases is the dual-phase lotion, Skin Harmonizer, which debuted earlier this year. Amidst the October rains at Ito Kish Design Food, Project Vanity had the pleasure of helping launch this exciting new product, and I’m thrilled to finally share my thoughts on it.

The new Kanebo Fusion-ing Solution (P6,500/60ml) is a pre-serum designed to enhance the absorption of the skincare products that follow. But it doesn’t stop there—it’s a multitasking powerhouse that offers a range of benefits. It helps strengthen the skin barrier, smooths and refines skin texture, minimizes the appearance of wrinkles, and works to even out skin tone. It’s the kind of product that not only preps your skin but also elevates your entire skincare routine with its targeted, results-driven formula.

The name "Fusion-ing Solution" stems from Kanebo's innovative Fusion-ing Technology, which combines nanoparticulation for improved skin permeation with the Targeted Sebum Trapping Technology first seen in the Skin Harmonizer. Together, these technologies create a "smooth veil" that evenly blends over uneven skin, enhancing its texture and allowing moisture to stay locked in while encouraging better absorption of skin-loving ingredients. While it might sound a bit technical, I appreciate how Kanebo breaks it down in their Instagram post, even presenting measurable results that make the benefits easy to understand. For more details, you can also check out the official product page, which includes the recommended Uplifting method for applying the serum effectively.

As a pre-serum serum, the Kanebo Fusion-ing Solution is designed to be used right after the Kanebo Skin Refiner or any toner of your choice, and before applying your essence or serum. According to the instructions on the box, you’ll need three pumps of the solution, making it the first step after washing and cleansing your face. For those who want a clearer picture of where it fits into their routine, the Kanebo global website provides a helpful guide that outlines exactly how this product integrates into the full Kanebo skincare routine . It’s a small detail, but having a clear sequence ensures you’re getting the most out of your products!

After over two weeks of using the Kanebo Fusion-ing Solution, both with Kanebo products and those from other brands, I’m genuinely impressed with the results. My skin feels noticeably plump and hydrated immediately after application, which makes it such a satisfying step in my routine. I’ve also observed that it helps the rest of my skincare absorb more effectively—especially noticeable in the mornings when my base makeup applies more smoothly and sits better throughout the day.

I have enlarged pores on my cheeks and nose, and keeping my skin well-prepped with this pre-serum has made them less noticeable, which is a win for me. Kanebo is one of those brands where you can really see and feel the impact of the extensive research and development behind their products. I can confidently say I’ll be finishing this bottle, and I’m already looking forward to the results as I continue using it!

The Kanebo Fusion-ing Solution is available offline at Kanebo counters and flagship store. You can also get them online at Lazada, Zalora, and  Rustans.
